  1. Top 50 coaches? Didn't even explain the coil properly. Here's a tip for Mr. 50 and everyone else. If your right handed….yea! On your back swing keep the left side of your hip still and feel it get tight. That's the coil part. Don't turn your hips for as long as you can during your back swing and you will feel the pressure in your hips build up like a coil. Do it slowly at first so you get the idea of what it feels like to actually coil up. Once you got that down continue to take it back slowly building up that coil in your hips. One you reach the top of your back swing just release your hips and smooth free power thru the ball. Crushed! Maybe it was just me but I didn't understand how he tried to explain it so maybe this will help others that are…. not grasping what he laid down.

  2. Thanks very much for this. I am getting an extra 15 yards, but that means I just keep putting the ball right off the back of the green!

  3. Great drill BUT to help the turn / back swing with the coil, practice back swing, then stop, turn head and look over right shoulder body corrects its self, and then look at ball and start down swing boom correct back swing / more power 🙂

  4. Excellent video, a real revelation for me. Because I have a strong upper body, I tend to allow my arms to generate the speed in my swing. So even when I'm swinging really hard, I still only hitting it maybe 230 carry. Looking forward to using this drill tomorrow.

  5. Great drill Alex. I feel for the most part. I turn in the back swing. I block a lot of shot with my driver straight right because I don't turn through the swing!
My shoulders will be farther forward facing. My hips are aim where the dang ball goes – toward the right!
Would you have a drill to help this, please!
If I swing my hybrid to 60 wedge. I swing through? It's infuriating I say! I get very frustrated with myself and the driver.

  6. Alex I want to know what handicap you play to. I know in order to do anything PGA affiliated you have to be a 4 or better. Cheers from Denver, CO MATE love you stuff! 👊🏼💯

  7. Great video as always.
I'm a 20 handicapper, what drills can I work on over the winter to increase my ball speed, I'm usually between 120-130 golf ball speed on top tracer and I'd love to get up closer to 140?!

  8. Cheat your turn! Drop your right foot back to a slightly closed stance with shoulders square. Just push your left hand to straighten your left arm as you turn and tuck right elbow as you downswing. Age, flexibility, and body type dictate this strategy.

  9. Can’t wait to practice that! Not sure my wife will appreciate it in the house but it’s a drill. 😊

  10. Had to watch this twice. I am a total 1/2 swinger. This really stretched out my swing and I felt like I would definitely get more rotation after just doing a few warm-ups. Going to try this at the range and on the course this weekend. New golfer. Loved this tip.

  11. Once you get used to ripping it with arms instead of body it's really hard to use body. Really hard

  12. Thanks for the video!

Question: When doin this, it is much harder – near impossible – for me to keep my head stationary. Is it ok if the head moves a little bit off the ball? Or any suggestions on how to get this much 'coil' while keeping the head still??
