  1. I recently got the Stealth 2 iron 18 degree UDI, it’s already my favorite club in the bag, I’m not good off the tee with Driver so I use it both there, in the fairway and rough all the time especially considering I can only seem to hit iron shots haha

  2. I started playing golf almost 2 years ago now. I started with a Dick's Sports Top Flite set but after watching reviews online I quickly went to Halo XL irons and never looked back. I've been building a bag that works for me. Cobra radspeed XL driver, cobra 5 and 7 woods , Halo XL 6 through D wedge and a set of costco wedges and a costco putter. I have been getting better and finally broke 50 on 9 holes with a 46. I encourage people to experiment and don't let brand or traditional snobbery rob the fun out on the course. People will be a lot happier making good shots with these clubs out there than beating themselves up with what they think they are supposed to play.

  3. I have a 13° 3 wood that confuses even me. My favorite club to hit is my 22° offset 7 wood. It's a cheap Slazenger but it feels amazing

  4. I purchased a driving iron (TaylorMade) and it was a mistake, for me at least. The premise behind the purchase was because, at the time, I hit my irons a lot better than I hit woods and driver – so I figured that I would give the driving iron a shot. Wrong move. I just couldn’t hit it – at all. Still can’t. I get better distance and control with my 6i. So I don’t even have it in my bag anymore.

The chipper, however, has been nothing short of fabulous and has helped shave me at least 4-5 strokes a round since putting it in the bag. I don’t fear green side rough anymore and I’m only getting better using it. The brand I chose was the one from Top Flite. I could care less about the stigma – I want what works. It’s about confidence. And since I only have 11 clubs that actually get legit use in a round, I’ve got the room for more utility-style clubs in the bag.

  5. I love you Gabe, your content is usually awesome…but, this "do as I do as I say but not as I do" video, missed the mark big time…why would I listen to anyone who doesn't practice what he preaches? Credibility problem right there.

  6. Last time I had myself a chipper because I had a problem with my chipping around the green. But now no more, I use my 60° LW which much easier for me to control my attacing shots.

  7. I carry a 3 wood carry 210- 230 yards, 7 wood carry 190-210 yards, 5 Hybrids 170-190 yards. I want my 7W and 5 HYB checking up on greens and not skipping on.,
Mid summer my Rogue 7 wood was rolling out 245 yards the accuracy is excellent. I do own a 5 wood 18deg but with my gapping the 7 wood works better.

  8. More good info Gabe my iron set up is 3,4 hybrid (Ping G 425) then 5-PW G425 steel shaft irons. 50 and 56 Ping wedges Glide 4.0

  9. i recently got a chipper myself, and as a starting golfer, it feels great to get the balls on the green even from 22 yards away with it and it really takes a stroke a hole away for someone that struggles getting it up and close to 2 putt it at the same time. i also use graphite shaft and i feel as a beginner it really helps get the feeling from the club and how it travels and how the club end apexes at the top on the back swing priming you to know when to start the downswing.

  10. Manufacturers should see the marketing opportunity and offer a beginners/ seniors set with these exact clubs . Through experimentation when I began my golf journey as a retiree 5 years ago, I have tried most of your suggestions and they helped me improve my game. TM mini drivers are like hens teeth on the second hand market, but the GX-7 14 degree is a cheap alternative. I picked up a second hand Cleveland HB Launcher set of hybrid irons ( 5-GW) with A flex shafts for my wife. In testing them I broke 80 for the second time! As I age a little more I might just steal them ! They are draw biased, so I have to aim right of my usual target. This is great for slicers though. Her chipper isn't for me for the same reasons you stated, but I do use it on sand green courses ( delete my 60 degree wedge). I have a 7 wood in my bag ( TS2) after finding it performed almost the same as my F9 5 wood, but stopped more reliably. I still carry a 19 hybrid. It is a Cobra F9 single length. In my opinion it is the most versatile club in my bag. The flight is lower than a normal shafted 19 hybrid, more like a 3 iron. I use it for punch shots out of trees, chip shots around the green for bump and run ( chipper alternative) , advancing the ball on the fairways or in the rough form poor lies unsuited for fairway woods, shaping shots around trees and tee shots into strong winds.

In my view high handicap players would be wise to use hybrids or hybrid -irons between 20-35 lofts, and then single length irons up to GW , or a wedges too. Tour Edge make a reasonable iron-hybrid, which you can get with a flatter lie angle to control the " lefts" some players complain about with non-adjustable hybrids.

  11. I’ve just finished watching an older video were you compare pxg 0811 to a sim. Since our swings are comparable in speed I was interested in what shaft you were using

  12. I use the taylormade 300 mini driver and that is my driver. It is just too good and consistent. I always hit it 270-310, usually in the fairway. My driver (SIM2) is really inconsistent and I hit is 220-330, usually a huge slice and just isn't usable and was the only club giving trouble.

I love my 5 wood, but I honestly feel like a 7 wood just doen't have a spot and hybrids aren't for me. the gap from 4 iron to 5 wood is spot on.
