Why 90% of golfers can't strike their FAIRWAY WOODS!!

TOP 50 COACH and PGA Golf Professional alex elliott talks through why fairway woods of the deck are the HARDEST clubs in the game but provides an EASY RESOLUTION that every single golfer can use. 90% of golfers can’t strike their FAIRWAY WOODS we make 3 major errors:

1. We try to scoop the ball in the air instead of compressing it
2. The lie has a HUGE impact on your impact position with your fairway woods
3. We don’t have the correct angle of attack into the golf ball in order to hit your fairway woods long & straight

Alex Elliott shows your the best way to strike your fairway woods with the perfect fairway wood golf drill! This drills works with striking 3 woods of the deck, hitting 5 woods. ofthe deck and also 7 woods of the deck. This is the No.1 drill in order to strike your fairway woods long & straight and i’m afraid this si why Why 90% of golfers can’t strike their FAIRWAY WOODS.

  1. FAIRWAY woods up there with the MOST used clubs. So let’s makes sure you get that GREAT strike. Use this drill

  2. When I go to practice swing my driver I feel fine then I tee up the ball and swing and I’m so off balance. Do you have any drills I can work with to try and get rid of that?

  3. Luckily it’s something that I’m good at yes a good lie helps but widening the stance helps with consistency tend to be straight and generally hit well.

  4. Alex – I needed to hear this I mostly strike my fairway woods with a quick flick (your match analogy). I will put your longer strike feeling to good use. Thanks much. Cheers

  5. Alex, 5W and Heavenwood are two of my favorite clubs to hit. One of my best shots this season was 170 from a fairway bunker. Hit Heavenwood onto the green. Of course, I 3 putted. But I prefer to remember a great shot and not the 3 putt.

  6. Thank you Alex. This helps. Can’t wait to get my, “telegram” me from the phishers. I report them.

  7. I like this how to, however yesterday my 3w did not want to behave. Fracking thing had me so torqued that I pulled it from my bag. I look forward to practicing this drill. Thanks Alex

  8. Looking at replacing my 5 wood with a 3 hybrid as am finding my 5 wood is difficult to hit and I have a 4 hybrid which I find easier to hit. Should I replace it?

  9. Excellent demonstration and explanation Alex on hitting the Fairway Woods! Under ordinary circumstances, I have been using your recommended techniques. However, because of drought conditions here in So. California, grassy lies are at a premium. The course I play on is void of grass in areas and sometime one gets dirt lies. Because of this, I have been playing the 5 wood and #3 and #4 hybrids on the zipper line or slightly ahead. The results have been favorable. I will be teeing the ball higher on fairway wood tee shots and using your recommended "match strike" for ground shots. Good Job Alex!!! I have archived this video for future viewing!

  10. Awesome video. Do you always hit the fairway? Would love to see a blooper video. its gotta be hard to talk and swing at the same time. You make it look easy. Thanks. You have really helped my game.

  11. Great tutorial, Alex! So many people are hesitant or lack confidence with their fairway woods; your drills will help them experience success.

  12. Alex, you mentioned a club head off your left heel I am guessing that was for a 3 wood? I struggle mightily hitting my 3 wood so I've switched to my 5 wood but it's always an internal debate about ball position. Should the 5 be more centered or more slightly forward?

  13. Shocked the guys I was playing with the other day with my 20 year old Taylormade steelseries 7W. Great off the tee and also on the fairways, crazy loft and good for 200-220yds and boy does it sound good
