Ehhhhhhhh……kinda. Fairway wood are all about ball position relative to the swing….most amateur right-handed golfers swing off their back foot and if the angle of attack is too steep or ball position is to far forward THIS is what causes the top. If you're struggling, move the ball roughly one club head back in your normal stance and make it feel like you're swinging up (not digging). Swing super shallow and focus on hitting the ball NOT taking a divot…..AKA pick it clean

For me it was weird. I couldn't hit woods to save my life. Bought a 5 wood just to give a go (used to have a 3 wood) and now I bomb both the 5 wood and the 3 wood. I don't top em anymore and they go so far and straight, all without a lesson. It's odd.
