To get really good at this shot ⬇️
A set up position with the handle raised getting the shaft sitting closer to vertical will minimise the heel snagging the grass at impact. It will also set you up in a way that the wrists/hands are quieter during the chip so it’s easier to find a consistent impact position.
As the club is sitting more vertical at address the loft will now look slightly to the right. Closing the face a touch will get the face looking back at the target, also meaning you don’t need to stand open at address and cut across the ball.
A gentle pivot away and towards the target will keep the hands very quiet and make distance control far easier. Head down and stiff with the body will lead to the hands taking over and strike becoming hard to manage
