SKILLS

You will NEVER play good golf unless you do this…

You’re about to learn one of the most simple, powerful and game changing things you can do to improve your golf. What’s awesome about this golf advice is it will just take a few minutes of your time and works with every golf club in your bag

I call it “Impulse”. Kids do it naturally which is why they improve so quickly. Adults almost never do it which is why they find it so difficult to strike their irons solid or hit their driver straight. What’s great for you however is that to achieve it will require just one change in your golf swing.

Once you learn the feeling of it you can use the same golf tip for your driver, irons, chipping and putting.

I guarantee you will begin to see and feel improvement in your golf swing and your overall golf game.

ABOUT DANNY
———————–
Thanks for stopping by. I created this website as a resource just for you to support you on your golfing journey as I know how tricky learning this game can be…to say the least!

I personally found learning the game too long and difficult in the early days. I read all the books, watched all the videos but my game was not improving. Then after studying various forms of neuro science, motor learning, psychology and personal development in less than two years I went from struggling golfer to the final stage of the Open Championship.

On YouTube and my personal website (www.dannymaude.com) I will bring you the most up to date training, training that is getting tangible results for my clients right now. I don’t know where you are in your golfing journey, you could be just starting out or maybe your body isn’t as flexible as it once was or you’ve got ambitions to slash your handicap. Wherever you are I’ve created a place here you can learn, share your ideas, ask questions and get all the support you need to enjoy this great game.

Be prepared though. If its a quick fix you are after Im not your man. Here I will give you step-by-step advice that you can take straight to the practice ground and apply to the course but it will require you to get stuck in, screw up…a lot, practice some more and then watch those scores tumble

I’ve had the pleasure of coaching thousands of students all around the world and if you are up for the challenge and are ready to get in the game…LETS GO TO WORK!

This golf lesson provides a couple of wonderful drills to help you hit your driver straight. If you are a beginner golfer and are looking for some golf driver tips that are simple and easy to do then you are going to love this.

I will show you the golf swing slow motion so that you can see what you need to do to improve.

We look at 3 things:

1. How to stop slicing your driver
2. How to swing more in to out or how to swing more inside out
3, How to get the correct impact position with driver

and I hope to do all this with simple golf tips so you can create an effortless golf swing

Hope you enjoy

  1. Great video drill, but I was so distracted at the start by the rave in the clubhouse 🤣🤣🤣🤣

  2. Love these Sat morning vids, just to have a couple of check points each week is gold.. Been following your advice for a while and almost back to single figures thanks to you…..On that, would love to see one on how to prep for a weekend comp, maybe what you see as a good routine pre round to get ready? I tend to do the technical stuff at the range and try not go to the first with a head full of swing thoughts, but they do creep in sometimes 🙃
If you already have posted a vid like this, please could you link it?

Thanks Danny, your videos are really so helpful and appreciated…
    ⛳🏌‍♀🙂

  3. I'm actually a non impulse chipper as far as I know, and it is by far the strongest part of my game. I dont flick it, I keep chest and hips almost dead still, and arms go back and forward like a putting motion, Im a 16 hcp and according to Arcos caddie +5.6 hcp short game (or if you dont trust that, basically the majority of my chips within 20 yards are within 6 feet and maybe about 30% I leave a tap in, everyone Ive played with comments on it including my coach).

Danny's videos are fantastic and he is my favourite golf youtuber (maybe tied with Padraig) and has helped me a ton, but I gotta disagree here, I guess there will always be exceptions.

I just like the mechanical movement of my chips, I like practicing hitting a few hundred in a bucket from 5-15 yards, a lot of them go in and nearly all hitting or just past the bucket, so on an actual green or fringe area that will usually be fine as a target spot.

I have tried turning my hips in to it and using that whip and impulse, theres undoubtedly more natural power but I actually dont like that, its difficult to be very accurate, the difference of a yard or two can be rolling past fringe towards the hole, or sticking to that fringe.

With the mechanical motion and my repetitive practice, I know exactly how far Im bringing the club back and I am rarely adjusting the downswing acceleration whatsoever. Of course when I get to 30 yards or beyond, I have to then start loosening up my swing, and that luckily hasnt caused any issues either (a concern in the past may have been confusion over mechanical vs impulse, its fine now).

I will always reconsider amd re-examine what Im doing and I will again after this video and genuinely give it another chance, but I would be surprised if I change it.

Its so simple to me right now and for the last year or so, I am barely even thinking when chipping, and I even look forward to a lot of chip shots (admittedly the simple ones) because I know Im usually gaining a stroke

  4. A better phrase, instead of in time,is in sync, whether irons or driver. When we are ,in sync,we hit the ball crisper and more yardage.I enjoy your videos, thank you for helping us.

  5. Thanks once again for your expertise. Having that in your mind when putting, because that's my weakness of the game.

  6. Danny, you have transformed my game and put a smile on my face.
I have been throwing in shanks for years, coming and going and not knowing why.
Understanding your axe move and the turning of the shoulders more just makes the swing so much simpler and leading to a great finish.
What you did with Liam from golf mates and his on the course driving lesson was outstanding.
Can’t thank you and Liam enough for bringing a bad 12 handicapper back to life and enjoying the game so much again. You explanation of the swing is great to follow. My son who’s 14 has improved too. Cheers and thank you once again

  7. Great lesson as always Danny. Love the relatable applications (tossing a ball, sweeping the broom, etc) as they show we can incorporate daily activities into the game to make it more enjoyable. Dr. Bob Rotella in “Make Your Next Shot Your Best Shot” taljs about how great golfers use right-brain creativity to execute left-brain logic. Your drills marry well into that process, as the drills are meant to trigger something you already know (left-side) into executing a better swing (right-side).

  8. My swing thought has been “tempo” to try and keep my swing speed even but I fail to hit through the ball quite often. Going to replace it with “impulse” moving forward and aim to get my swing to finish high above left shoulder. Thanks Danny.

  9. I couldn’t get my eyes off the club house TV haha. Thank you for the video can’t wait to hit the range

  10. I've always suffered from being too controlling. I can hit nice shots but never had as much distance as I thought I should. My favourite way to practice now is to just chuck a ball down, walk up and smash it to a target just as it stops moving. It's amazing how doing that 15 or 20 times can free you up and get you away from thinking about the swing. It's also amazing how accurate I am considering I'm not paying any attention to ball position, stance etc

  11. Danny, I have a tendency to “pop up” and sometimes open too much. I do this with driver more but with irons also. How can I incorporate impulse but combat these faults. Thanks for the videos.
