In this video with fellow Milo Lines Golf coach, Ed Lasater, we look at the movement of the upper body in the golf swing. If you saw our series with Elite Golf a while back, you may have heard us also discuss this motion. I’ve linked the video here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1t00CwbD5So. Let’s look at how the upper body makes this fish hook move from the top of the backswing to the follow through and finish. We also take a peek at the swings of Rory McIlroy, Tony Finau, and Dustin Johnson in 3D with the help of Gears Golf to see how their upper centers move. For those of you looking for an open chest at impact, learn this magic move. We hope you enjoy this video!

Ed working with me to do this. As both of you know I struggle coming over the top and very arm dominant. The last videos it looks like both arms are in casts. Very stiff and robotic. I swear I’m trying to relax. Lol
Often times when I swing down and try to post up on my lead leg I tend to hit the ball thin and it results in a low screamer. Maybe the discussion at the end of the video concerning the feel of “lowering” the lead shoulder is the answer to my problem?
Lol fing Ed… Where's the upper center… "From the waist up"!!!! lmao I love that guy
Milo what's max weight that gets to your right side on the force plates? If I had to guess I would say your a centered golfer and its somewhere around low 80s? And that transition of yours is worth a million bucks lol
Best lesson I’ve seen. Thx. Ron
This is a great lesson. My swing path is vastly improved by focusing on the fishhook.
That's a good one.
Where can I get the hat you're wearing?
This is a great video, I have bad habit of firing that left shoulder up and falling backwards. Will have to try this landing forward feel before slinging the arms through.
This is brilliant. If doing this correctly and pushing that weight forward with a solid rotation will the eyes and head get behind the ball naturally? I feel as though when pressurizing weight in the left foot my head get way to far in front of the ball
Yes Milo, I like Uncle Ed too, Mr Ed Lasater is not only a great coach but has the best looking legs for a man with his degree of excellence when it comes to the golf swing . . thank you gentlemen !
Good one!
