JUMBO GRIPS vs NORMAL GRIPS! Should you switch?

  1. I've been thinking of switching to larger grips for a while. Switching from baseball to golf with grip was a bit of a learning curve for me. What would be a suggestion for say a "trial period"? I've been told to change maybe two grips on my irons as a test run before committing to the full set.

  2. 100% put jumbomax XL on all my clubs, wedges feel amazing and driver is like having the fuse to a bomb in my hand, speed and prescision just explodes off my sim2.

    Would recommend to anyone!

  3. Aren't most of the pros going jumbo now too? I've been curious but mainly since I wear XL gloves(big hands)

  4. doesn't this limit hand speed though? just went through a bunch of lessons and he taught me to close the club face by rotating the hands through impact, and he explained this is where a lot of the club speed comes from. With thicker grips doesn't this limit the rotation? which would lower your club speed and also increase the delivered loft?

  5. This year I went to jumbmax xs on irons and small on metals. (I wear a large Costco Kirkland glove) These are still exceptionally large compared to even an oversize grip from say, GolfPride. After 40+ rounds I would have to say that I am impressed but will be downsizing a little. In the off season I will be going to xs on metals and standard jumbo (1/8) on irons. I will use the largest factory grips on my three Ping wedges.

Like the big guy says, you can grip it lighter but I have lost some face control and feel. I am a 6 handicap btw.

Overall the Jumbomax grips wear extremly well and still have tons of tack. I only wear a glove in high heat. Very Fred Couples of me…
