Mizuno White Fang woods and Ben Sayers Mentor Forged irons, true classic designs under discussion.

A look at the “space-age” Mizuno White Fang graphite and carbon fibre woods.
Then what I consider to be one of the last great blade designs from a UK manufacturer; Ben Sayers’ “Mentor Forged” irons.
Rounding the set off we have an Edinburgh Golf “Rapier” putter.
After discussing the clubs it’s out onto the course for a quick few holes to see how they perform in the hands of a duffer.

  1. Great golf and great clubs!
Love Mentors! They are right up there amongst my all time favourites. Superb feel from them and stunning looks. I am surprised by the strong lofts – never really considered that they play strong.
They are very soft. I was playing Mentors when i picked up a set of Custom Forged Mentors. They turned out to be flat lie so had my pro bend them upright for me. He said he could almost bend them between his thumb and forefinger! Ironically a set of upright Custom Forged came up a couple of weeks later so I now have 3 sets!
    Thanks for the video.

  2. That was a very smart looking cap Nick. Rapier to the rescue, great long putt. Those were really a nice looking set of irons, woods were retro styled with modern material, by the way how'd they feel? Thanks for another great vlog.

  3. I'm really enjoying your series, being a senior golfer and have memories of some of the clubs. When you play in club competitions or with your mates , do you use a modern set ?

  4. Nice cap! I love those woods. I'd love to see a company copy them w all of today's advancements… nice bird.

  5. Just bought a lefty set of Ben Sayers 'Ray Floyd' irons which are identical to these 'Mentor',unusual in that the True Temper Dynamic shafts have bands that say 'R' but the first step in the shafts is about the correct distance above the hosel to be an 'S' flex.
