Are PXG Irons Better In 2022?

Taking a look at the PXG 0211 DC vs PXG 0211 XCor2. Are the changes in 2022 drastically different? I’ll test them in the simulator to find out.

  1. I am going to be picking up a 7 iron so I can try them out. Thanks for the videos. Your being so secretive about what is going into the bag, but loving the iron videos.

  2. To give you an idea of how hot these clubs are.

I have a swing speed that averages in the mid-80's and was using the Aerotech 115 steel fiber shaft. I was averaging around 175 carry on the 7iron lol. My fitter asked me to up the swing speed a little (I can crank up to 90+, but who knows where the ball will go or if I hit it correctly) and when I made good contact I had a couple that carried in the 190's.

I will definitely have to tone my swing speed to about 85 so I can actually hit greens sub 150 yards.

Can't wait for my XCOR's coming in today!

  3. I was looking at these in 6i-GW. The DC's are $474 and the XCOR's would be $774. For the difference in price and what didn't look like that much difference in performance or forgiveness, I think I am going with the cheaper option 🙂

  4. Great video. I went in and was fitted at PXG Scottsdale last Saturday. 0211 DC/XCORE & 0311 Gen 3. I liked the 0211s much much. Slight difference and I would agree with your view point on both being Xcore a bit better. But both are hell of clubs!

I did a mixture of DC & XCORE because with the sale a lot of the DCs are out of stock. 5/6/7-Xcore. 8-Lob DC.

Great clubs. Some of the best I’ve tried.

  5. I think you hit your SIM2 Max Irons much better than these, but I might be biased… I just bought a set of the SIM’s 🙂

  6. I assume these are the same loft. But I wonder about the lie angle. Seems the DC was pushing a bit right, and the new ones were drawing much more. I wonder if the lie angles are different.

  7. Hi Gabe, thanks for doing this review. It's one I've really been looking forward to. When you think about the 0211 XCOR2 versus those Cobra Forged Tec, what's the difference on sound and feel, in your opinion?

  8. I enjoy your videos. Watching an average guy working on his game. I just got into the PXG family. I purchased second hand the 0211 along with driver, 3 wood and 5 wood. I received 0211 hybrids today. I have to figure out why I’m not getting the distance out of the driver. I got what I thought was excellent deals. Once the price dropped on the new equipment I thought there would be good deals on guys upgrading their equipment. The entire lot $1100; driver, 3/5 woods, 22/25* hybrids, Lob-4 irons. Will finish my bag when I find a deal on a putter, maybe a 7 wood.

  9. I would be tempted to get the new 0211 but I'm happy with the 2021 style.

And did you see the prices of the PXG drivers?! 299 for a Gen5. Does that now beat the competition in your head-to-head driver bracket? If I could save 200+ it would certainly make me nudge it to the top.

  10. I’m torn between 2 brands so I’d figure I would ask the man that’s hit both. If you had to pick between 0211 dc irons or cobra radspeeds irons which would you choose? Forgiveness is a big deal for me. Lol As always thank you for the great golf content!

  11. This review is very timely for me. As others have said the $79 a club number has me really interested in the DCs. Im a20 plus handicap currently playing Ping i3 osize irons that were second hand and too short for me. Would you recommend the DCs for my high of a handicap? Thinking 6-GW as I play with driver 3w 5 w and 24.5 degree hybrid. Thinking about kirkland wedges to round out the bag.

  12. I don't understand the distance arms race in irons. We're limited by our driver, fairways and hybrids. So what does it matter if the club below the 4H is labeled 5, 6, 7 or 8 iron?
