Muirfield: Host of the 2022 AIG Women's Open

The historic Muirfield Golf Course in East Lothian, Scotland hosts the AIG Women’s Open for the first time this week. Tournament director Zoe Ridgway and Club Historian Robin Dow discuss the significance and intricacies of this fiendish venue which boasts possibly the greatest list of past winners of any championship course. After a turbulent stretch that saw the R&A remove the course from its Open Championship Rota, in 2019 the club invited its first 12 women members after a successful re-vote and the R&A announced this significant event the following year.

Special thanks to the R&A, Muirfield, and the Honourable Company of Edinburgh Golfers.
