Thank you for this series Simon. Keith and I are members of N Wilts (near Devizes). I've never played Lilleybrook. We both played in the Seniors Open at Naunton Downs (not far from Lilleybrook) a couple of weeks ago. First time I've played it since the changes.
Yes, driver off the 18th! You know I like that gamble. Teared greens can be pretty challenging and it's a nightmare when the flags on the bottom and your on the top. I recently played a course that has about 90% teared green and somehow shot a 78. Well it's wasn't true 78 because we played a shamble on the par 4s and 5s. Pretty much we got to play the best drive on those holes and then play our own ball the rest of the way. Had 4 birds, a ton of pars, a few bogeys and 1 double. I actually won the tourney which was pretty awesome.

Well done (yet again!). 72 is a great score, and that sand wedge on the last…..!!!! Bloddy brilliant! Had you hit the drive where you intended, I wonder whether you'd have got as close with your second shot??? Maybe, the greater the challenge, the better the shot?
A very interesting video (as was the front 9 on Golf Sidekick's channel). Not bad for an "after-work" knock, nor for a young man such as yourself!

Great watching this, I used to play most of my golf alone too until weekends. Still have not gotten round to playing since I stopped a few years ago. Hopefully will get back to it again next year. 👍

Good game. I'm guessing this was filmed earlier in the year as everything is now yellow or brown in Gloucestershire and the ball is bouncy miles.

Would love to get your thoughts on when the “safe choice” goes wrong, how do you respond? I’ve been struggling with this lately. For example, picking 5W when the driver isn’t behaving and then topping my 5W 80 yards – it can derail a round.
