In this YouTube video I take a look at the TaylorMade Stealth Rescue & TaylorMade Stealth DHY Utility Iron….both the same loft of 19 degrees but do they performance the same? We take a look at the different in golf ball flight, spin & distance! These golf clubs are clubs you will probably put in your golf bag but which one? Choose a club to suit your golf swing and golf game plus the ball flight you like to see.

  1. Thanks for comparing these clubs! How do you think the UDI model fits in? More of a 3/4i replacement?

  2. Hybrid all day. Better from the rough, can bunt & run around the green, and can flight it down a bit if you need to keep it low into the wind (certainly easier to flight low with a hybrid than a 5 wood at same loft)

  3. I play at a course that is regularly windy so I definitely need a utility iron as my hybrid flight is to high and stalls in the air.

  4. It all depends on swing speed and delivery characteristics.

I am an average swing speed player (driver swing speed 97-98 mph) and although I do have a high ball flight with my 5i (25 degree) and 4 hybrid (23 degree), I know from experience that at 19 degrees neither a driving iron or hybrid work best for me but instead I should reach for a fairway wood, in my case 7w (21 degrees)

  5. I believe most players would prefer to play the utility iron if they could, but then the reality of the numbers and ease of use kick in and the hybrid wins out for many of us. The utility iron does look cool in the bag though and brings a certain comfort level to many players when they look down at it. Very informative review for those comsidering one vs. the other.

  6. Very different clubs. Use my dhy as a long iron replacement, gives more forgiveness, height and stop. Hybrid is much more foregiving from dodgy lies tho, hence why it’s still in the bag.

  7. I think the utility would be my choice
The shorter clubs are easier for me to make a good strike
I like a lower flight unless I’m around the green
    Great video
    Thx

  8. Driving iron for me as I play on a links style course. Lower ball flight every time. Currently have the Srixon U65 2 & 3 iron in my bag. No plans to change either right now….. ⛳️😎👍🏻

  9. great video Mike….love the information here. I have always used a hybrid but I am going to start looking at the 3 or 2 driving irons. I deliver so much dynamic loft this might really help me. Play at a traditionally very windy course. Again….great work on bringing these comparison vids out.

  10. Prefer my G410 3H for most shots around 220 yds, easier to hit. My Ben Hogan 18° for stinger shots

  11. I've recently put a 2 iron (Mizuno pro fli hi, 16.5) and a sim2 rescue (19.5) in the bag. Love them both. 2 iron is for off the tee and a fairway finder, it goes lower and has tight dispersion, a good hit will get it out there 250 yards total. The hybrid goes higher and is easier to work left or right, shots into par 5s and long par 4s. Just got to figure out gapping because the sim2 goes a good 10 yards further than my old hybrid (220 carry) meaning I've got a slightly bigger gap than I'd like between 4 iron (195 carry) and hybrid. Might dial it back a degree and/or figure out how to take 10yards off it throughy swing. I tell you what though, because I've struggled with fairway woodsy limit on approaches had been 215 up to now, it's amazing to be able to hit 240 into a green with the new hybrid!

  12. Definitely a utility iron player, mostly for versatility. I play the Srixon U85 20*, weakened to 21.5* with the oe Recoil shaft replaced w/Ventus Blue 9X @1/2” over. It’s a club I can hit low draw, high fade or a straight bomber. It’s not an approach club very often, mostly off tee as my home courses are notorious for afternoon winds.

I really like the club, has good turf interaction when I do hit from fairway. It gaps perfectly with my Miura 501’s and my 3-wood, set at 15.75*. I’ve tried fitting in a 19* fairway wood but I’m just not confident enough with it and tends to fly very high.

I don’t play hybrids because they go left too often and for me it’s much harder to hit a high fade than with the U85. My home courses it should be said are narrow tall conifer lined fairways.

I am curious why you chose the DHY version, not the UDI. DHY looks kinda clunky and while likely offering more forgiveness, I would think the UDI, with more forward moi, would be a more versatile and workable option.

    Thanks for another terrific vid.

  13. I wanted to love my utility iron, but hybrid is way better for me. Sold the iron. I play a steel shafted hybrid, at the same length as the club it replaced, a true iron replacement. Not sure why more companies don’t offer this option. It’s a Mizuno Fli-hi.

  14. Would like to see a review on Callaway Utility wood 19 VS Hybrid VS utility Iron, I brought the UT wood and does not have the same flight as a hybrid with me. I’m 60 years old and my club head speed is 90 mph for my wood. But can still hit the UT 19 210 yards

  15. Michael I would like to know what is the difference in your attack angle with each club

  16. My lower than average swing speed works better with hybrids and fairway woods. The extra spin helps to prevent the ball from dropping out of the sky.

  17. I hit driver quite high on a windy links course, the 2i off the tee, into the wind would be amazing!

  18. Why not have one of each plus a 7 wood and swap out according to the course you play? Don’t have a utility iron but I know of a course where I live where one would come in handy and other courses where the hybrid or 7 wood would be advantageous. I look for bargains to minimize costs so I can own a couple of extra clubs.
