Have the Cleveland club in the sand wedge, it is fantastic!
thank you. I shot 62,and save 8 strokes using the ping CHIPR
Great video like always. I would like to the Cleveland chipper vs. ChipR they both seam to be the same.
I have been using a Wilson Harmonized chipper while playing different courses, using a half set of clubs. I have a 56 wedge, and a 7 iron for alternative clubs near the green. The chipper needs practice on each green to work out the roll out amount. Using your putter stroke and aim at the hole, you can get a green read and possibly one putt if you get the distance pin high. The other use I have found is for chipping back into play, but hitting the ball harder makes the shot go higher, so delofting if under trees is needed.
I don’t understand why you’re not putting both in the bag. Two different scenarios require two different clubs. If you think about the smart sole “set” of three clubs, they have covered all requirements on getting the ball on the green from anywhere.
I bought the smartsole set of three wedges ayear ago. The 50 and 58 wedges are great clubs that have cut strokes from my short game. But the smartsole chipper has a much shorter shaft and a much shallower face. These two characteristcs give me a lot of problems with the smartsole chipper such that I have now taken it out of my bag.
You're right about learning the distances for the smartsole wedges, but once you have these numbers results become repeatable and reliable.
I'll try the PING chipper because I appreciate the principle.
Thanks for your videos on these two clubs, have found this and other vids on chipping/approach really interesting.
This discussion feels so much like when I use to play golf as a kid and did not have (could not afford) a heap of clubs. We use to use our 7 iron, our single wedge and putter for a whole range of different shops by manipulating loft. Golf has become almost too complicated by having too many different clubs.
Having a ChipR and perfecting it for a whole range of different situations is almost preferable to having too many clubs of which you don't use often enough to get comfortable with. Less IS more.
Thanks agains
PS: you have a lot of dust specs all over your lens!!
I have been chipping almost exclusively with the Cleveland smart sole chipper and love it! It handles almost every shot. Which chipper do you prefer head to head, the Cleveland (which is lighter) or the ping? Thank you for a very relevant video
Totally agree Andy i gried both but went with the cleveland as the courses i play need a bit more loft and it suits my eye better not to mention the $ difference but both nice clubs
Man they built a great club ,I know it's better ,still caught between ego and logic
Despite the economic downturn,I'm so happy☺️. I have been earning $ 60,200 returns from my $7,000 investment every 13days
H Andy, great video. Love the green cam view. May we request for future videos, to perhaps circle out where the ball ends up please? Not easy to spot with the sun reflecting off the green. Appreciate it, thanks!
Thank you Andy
Get them both. No one is counting clubs in your bag and everyone carries too many clubs anyway so take out clubs. Make it easy, golf is hard enough.
Andy, try the Elven hybrids 3 to pw,all full hybrids.
How do you rate those against the Mizuno ES21 mate?
Agree with everything you said Andy, but I need to see a compare between the Ping and the Cleveland Chipper, which is also more upright. Both have very different soles and I would appreciate your thoughts between the two of them.
TM bigfoot hi toe 58 degrees …bunkers it's fantastic … chippers not for me at all but can see the benefits …. fringes I'm putting.. short of greens I use lower loft wedge grip down and toe down then basically use a back and through stroke
My gap wedge is my go to chipper unless its buried in the rough. I just find it has perfect loft and bounce for chip and runs, even out to about 30 yards. I suppose with confidence and practice i could make the Ping work as well or even better. Good video.
Interesting vid andy, a comparison between the ChipR & the cleveland smartsole chipper would be interesting too?
The best 'game improvement' club I have EVER found is the Cleveland Smart Sole Sand Wedge. If you hate bunkers, get this club.
The ChipR is far to expensive for a average golfer and that is the golfer it is aimed at so Im sorry Id love one but cant justify the expense I paid over £50 with Amazon for a Pinemeadow chipper ( Same disign as the Cleveland chipper) and try as I might it just wont do it for me and is now gathering dust in the corner
Used the x-act tank chipper – very good
Seems sensible to try these clubs out
Why hasn't there been any Andy and Hannah videos?
andy cud u do a face off with the 2 chippers
Great explanation. Anyone just getting into golf see this too. Another joy of this game for me is the multiple opportunities of meeting like minded people. I met a friend once in a golf course and after a discussion about my then dwindling portfolio, he got me hooked on the trending copy trading method of investing. Two years later, with around $300,000 every quarter passively, it's all smiles and no regrets. Apart from the pleasures of the game, the networking aspects is quite as beneficial.
I thought the Chipper was an 8 or 9 iron loft? Explains why it gets the ball up.
Ordered,looking forward to the results.
