What's The Best Golf Tee Height? Testing Different Golf Tee Heights

Golf tee height is a common dilemma for golfers. While it may not seem like a super important topic, the golf tee height can have a major impact on the performance of tee shots with the driver.

In this video, 2nd Swing’s Drew Mahowald and Thomas Campbell use Trackman technology to test the impact of golf tee height and how it can impact the performance of your golf tee shots.

  1. It depends on the height of the clubface and your angle of attack. For me, I just tee it high enough so the ball hits the clubface dead center (if I do it correctly).

  2. People always comment on how high I tee my ball up. I have a tendency to hit low flat balls. So I tee it up high and tend to swing 4-5 up launching it around 13-14 from a 10.5* head. Switched into the Stealth this year as it allowed me to get my spin above 2000 consistently.

  3. I think it’s all in your swing. Some people (mostly older people or new golfers with the baseball swing) swing higher off the ground. I tend to lightly skim the ground so I make sure half my ball is exposed to club head
