Shawn. Thanks for this.
Did I detect a minor change/update? In videos before I’d swear that you said the visual focus was on the grass between the club face and the ball.
In this video you mentioned visual focus was on the grass, just on the target side of the ball.
Was this purposeful? Does this lead to a better chance of taking a proper divot?
Just wondering…
When hitting driver what am I looking at before the ball or after the ball
Do you recommend a short pause at the top of the back swing and why?
The funny thing is that Shawn has 500 different titles for his video, but it always just boils down to one simple thought, which has made my time playing golf much more enjoyable. My friend is always asking me, what's your swing thought? Aren't you trying to bow your wrist, keep your elbow in, keep head level, put your weight forward, and time your hips with your swing?? No! I'm just tying to throw my stupid club down the fairway! LOL. Thanks Shawn!
I often find myself flinching at the anticipation of contact when hitting my irons if I don't lock in on going at the target.
👏👏
Hey Shawn, although I have adopted a Moe Norman single plane swing, I still enjoy watching your channel as your instruction is so clear and I find I can adapt it to my new mechanics… this is just a great channel for anyone wanting to improve their golf swing and you are an AWESOME instructor!!!!!!!
Awesome video, loving the premium channel 🏌️♂️
Always amazing tips – that have changed my understanding of the golf swings. I can now quickly address any swing issues by going back to some of your foundational tips… cutting the grass… throwing the club… strong grip
Why do ppl throw the club way left of target when they do this drill for right handers? Cant be because the target is the ball cuz there isnt a ball there…. appreciate your work as always. Also the take away is a huge problem for most amateurs and doing the perpetual drill or swinging to see the arc blur is great but once over the ball and so.ewhat static the backswing can be manipulated from old habits…. any tips? Ty sir
Awesome video. No one can be clearer than that
So good! I am working on hip clearance and also using the ground! Great video and exercises I can do anywhere (anywhere I have a field to throw clubs!).
I remember throwing clubs with Shawn 7 years ago at Richmond Hill, my first club throw stuck in the chicken wire fence about 30 feet off the ground. I got better after that.
Thanks for all your help Shawn! I used to jump around a lot on YouTube but I realized i was hurting my game more than helping it. Since I started listening and watching my game has never been better. I appreciate all the free content you give and your simple ways of getting the message across to us. Keeping things simple is the best approach when it comes to my game. Thanks and cheers from Albany New York!
That scared me when you threw the club down and it bounced right next to your GCQuad lol
Thank you sir,
I’ve been watching for a couple of years and your many examples of focusing on a target somewhere down field has always resonated with me …..and yet I always need reminders.
It goes without saying that you are right. Focusing on the ball as my task is always a disaster.
I take a bit of solace in the fact that my favorite YouTube student ( Mu) still needs an occasional reminder regarding “intended task” from his favorite instructor….will it ever end or am I doomed?
….Perhaps marketing an online cattle-prod for those of us slow to fully absorb the mantra of “task”
Just another excellent video, thanks for the reminder about throwing the club.
been putting together notes from all your lessons….even used the lag club today which I juts got in the mail. 1 one key thing. On backswing. -Butt towards target which eliminates sway. I played hockey. on downswing, I think of the wrist shot towards the target which open my chest toward target and REALLY promotes the lag to give a snap/sling (which is like throwing the club at target). Was launching it today. was probably hitting 7 iron about 180 yards. Th lag club took about 15 swings before I was able to achieve a pull straight left (started off with some harsh slices) and then I dialed it back right to hit center. Amazing tool. Really liked the weight. The last element – DYNAMIC Square up. I closed the face about 30 degrees as I have a tendency to push t right about 15-20 degrees. Much more practice to go but it felt soo natural and pure contact. Either I am finally learning this or God decided to be merciful to me today
Another tremendous video, Shawn. Really changing my thought process. I can't wait to put these ideas into practice at the range and see what happens!
