  1. Attending a race meeting is terrible value, the British GP was a sell out at 120k and the tickets weren't cheap. But it was value, it's unacceptable to be charged to go somewhere that charges over £6 a pint

  2. She'd some light on hightakeout, cheating trainers and jockeys.

  3. High gas prices from the dumb globalist, EU, leaders sanctions probably played a roll in attendance?

  4. Racing has Ostracised its core, doubling down on the importance of the young generation who don't wear socks.

  5. Re the safety of gambling, if people want to pistachio away their life savings on a horse, let them! I am so tired of this parental government nonsense. We are not children. If they don't want our custom, fine, but how dare these bureaucrats push us around like little misbehaving kids?! The last two years alone have proven how dangerous this is, too. First we're considered, then we're monitored, then we're coerced, then we're controlled. N.B. That's not paranoia, that's me zooming out with history to guide.

  6. Racing rulers have no idea yes the pandemic has had an effect but however how can racecourse`s charge £26 to get in on a monday (Ripon) the last time i went to Ripon charged £4.50 for a hotdog on stale bread !!!also £6 a pint , why dont they have a charge of £5 to get in across all courses on a mondays-wednesday except members enclosure and if i have to prove that its afforable then i for 1 will never bet again and im 59 been betting and going racing some 40 years plus

  7. I paid £50 for Premier on the door, at Sandown, plus £5 Programme plus parking. For me as a senior with no concessions it is dear. For me the 2 bets £15 total with Tote is plenty, in truth It would have been the same if I had got in for free. A bite to eat which was value at £12; in total change out of £100 to see the best horses going head with the Jockey ultimately winning the race rather than the horse and jockey, as with Giants Causeway, Sea the Stars and others. Was it worth it ? For me only just but the cost of going does cut down my number of visits especially to the major races that has become a solo treat rather than a regular.

  8. I'm pretty sure that in most bookmakers the main problem customers are FOBT punters….. During the pandemic when shops reopened FOBT users had time limits on how long they could play on them during a visit…..15 minutes I'm pretty sure…. During this time problems arising from people playing FOBT's was obviously very low….. Surely if time restrictions were put back on the FOBT games as well as there online versions many problem customers will be prevented from getting themselves into the situations they currently can get in to….. Obviously there will be customers who have problems with horse racing, football and other sports betting but the main problem gamblers use the FOBT and online versions of these games…..I think if the gambling industry were to bring in time restrictions on these games many of the industries problem customers will be helped…..I wish the government would also have a plan of action for people with drink and drug problems which are spiralling out of control in many parts of the country….. Scary times…. Bookmakers do have to monitor customers behaviour and prevent distressed people from betting….. But that same distressed person can pop next door to a convenience store and buy an extra large bottle of vodka and a packet of paracetamol with no questions asked…..FOBT machines are the main demon in the betting industry but in society in general drugs and alcohol are just way too freely available for everyone….. Rather than everyone observing….. people need to start intervening and saying no this isn't acceptable anymore, do something…..

  9. No brainer, reduce the price of food and alcohol, that's why you're getting tanked up drugged up louts before they get in

  10. They turned every fixture into an “event” where you have to buy online in advance, pay booking charges etc. Years ago you just turned up and paid cash on the door, walked straight into the betting ring, and watched for moves, information, went to parade ring, maybe had a tea or coffee, that’s it. Now there is no betting ring, it’s online, so there is no point in going racing. A couple of times a year for a day out maybe but the days of the regular punter going every week died 20 years ago when betfair came in and when they started going after the people who are there to get pissed and pay £6 for a warm beer.

  11. Support for Ukraine absolute nonsense, Glastonbury was always about peace not war. now we are supporting Ukraine who have been sent billions not for peace but for war. Surely we want peace.
