Today, we’re talking about golf ball aerodynamics and whether or not dimples matter.

We had the opportunity to head out to Titleist’s Manchester Lane, a state-of-the-art golf ball research and test facility, located in Acushnet, MA.

    Great test Harry and Chris. The dimpleless flew kinda how I figured. Dimples are key for sure and Harry’s comment of how 1/1000 thickness variance was the most eye opening. Keep up this series – love “golf science”

    So a manufacturer can dial in a ball to your specific swing by varying the dimple depth. Think they need a fitting session for all of us weekend warriors to get our specific dimple depth, bring it on, I'll be waiting. I know some guys that need the dimple less ball! I'm with Harry, the •PROV1 is the best ball ever.

    That is some true Science there. So, essentially if you hit a scuffed ball, you could be hurting yourself. Or, if you do it right, you theoretically could shape your shot based off of how you line up the scuff.

    Interesting video. makes you realize just how much titleist puts into the balls compared to some of the DTC brands where everything coming out of that factory has the same dimple pattern.

    Cool demo on the importance of dimples, but what I really want to know how is Harry getting his hands on enough left dots to be his “gamer”. 🤔

    Hi guys great video. When Barns Wallace produced the bouncing bomb in world war 2 they found out that smooth didn’t work so well so they experimented with different surfaces. These findings influenced the making of the modern day golf ball ! 😀
