  1. I disagree with Scott. My personal view is that the Masters will want to get involved. They won't appreciate that amateurs who have stayed in the Crows Nest have now been manipulated and used as pawns by LIV. Greg Norman has admitted that using lesser named players as a way of enticing bigger stars is part of the LIV strategy.

  2. I'm not a cheerleader, exactly, for the PGA Tour. But, I'm certainly no fan of a government that funded exploratory weaknesses in our airlines' security, including entering cockpits and possible mechanical sabotage prior to 9/11 etc.. LIV is golf I'll never watch.

  3. Of course we’re not consuming it. When they land a TV deal, you think people aren’t going to watch? They said the same thing about the AFL. Then they got a TV deal and I grew and grew and a merger happened. Eventually they’ll do a Ryder Cup like event. Brooks and Bryson will be captains. Lol

  4. The PGA is so hypocritical. They just want to maintain their monopoly but position it as some self righteous bs

  5. SVP doesn't know if Fitzpatrick's shot will live in in memory 🙄 That was Sandy Lyle out of the bunker at Augusta all those years ago in the Masters at 18. Clutch. World class. Unforgettable.

  6. Actual competitive tournament golf is just better than exhibition golf (think AllStar game vs. championship game) but LIV will win in the end. The top 30 golfers in the world make less than $20 million a year, some far less, and LIV is offering that level golfer (Dustin Johnson) $150 million contracts. If I’m Jon Rahm and I know it’ll take me more than 20 years to match that money (assuming I remain a top 30 golfer for 20 years!!) I sign tomorrow.

  7. Remember that Marcus Allen got fucked by Al Davis for personal reasons.. Otherwise he would have had way better stats than he ended up with.. I still remember that as it was so obvious at the time..

  8. Rich Eisen and Scott Van Pelt both suck balls. The fact that they get paid for this warmed over conventional wisdom is an indictment of modern sports "media" lol.

  9. I grew up with this story line from Professional Wrestling. Hogan going to the dark side. Are you WCW? Or NWO? Phil broke our hearts like Hogan did….by dying his beard black.

  10. LIV won't go away, there is too much money. Eventually the PGA will likely give in and reinstate everyone and co-exist with LIV. LIV could become the dominant tour because of the money. The U.S. wants to be seen as morally superior, and in some ways they are, but i9n other ways they are not- doing most of their manufacturing in places using child slave labor shows the U>S> has ethical issues as well, just more carefully hidden.

  11. Sure the stroke out of the 18th bunker was good. But he had a good lie, his stance seemed ok, it was only 163 yards, he hit a nine iron. What did we expect from a top 25 player in the world. A 5 handicapper could have hit the green from that lie, that stance that club. It wasn't super difficult. Made a mockery of Azinger's comments so I was happy about that.

  12. The lip wasnt in the way.. the ball was sittin up in the sand. Enoigh bologna.
Evem though the leaderboard had supposed major wimners, it was terribly boring.

  13. Regarding LIV becoming boring because a no-name won a random tournament, that’s exactly what some of the dud PGA events are. You never know who’s going to show up at a PGA event which makes some of the events hopelessly boring. They need to find a way to require these professional athletes to play 10-12 (if not more) events, not just the 4 majors.

  14. LIV isn’t a tour it’s an exhibition buyout of washed up players and delusional guys with zero morals

  15. Liv Tour— dramatic , nail biting drama that I can’t get enough of. If you add in Greg Norman and MBS what’s not to like?

  16. Brookline was a great course. But they should've gotten the greens up to regular speed. Them boys putt a ton of undulating greens. They would figure it out. The greenist greens ever in any US Open and just about evert putt was short and a huge let down. But it was an awesome venue and a great win.

  17. I have never been a Greg Norman fan. I didn't like how he twisted the PGA Tour back in the 1980's to be an "International Tour". We need the PGA Tour for Americans and the European Tour for Europeans. The situation is even worse with the LPGA. I am not watching Miss Korea win every week. That's just un-American.

  18. It's all Joe Biden's Fault. What do I Mean? Simple: Oil Prices are through the roof thus lining the pockets of those funding the LIV Tour!

  19. Here’s my like and comment to help SVP understand that as a lifelong yet very casual fan of the PGA, I absolutely “care” about the LIV break-off. The controversy and drama is entertaining and polarizing, and I’d bet the views and clicks it’s getting would support it’s not simply the media giving this attention but the fans as well.

  20. I agree with SVP that the LIV is going to get stale in a moment BUT the players that are taking the money don’t care about that and that affects the pga tour product.

  21. The problem also is no one will be paying attention to the pga tour either because all of the good players aren’t there anymore

  22. I am REALLY glad the PGA now has competition. Maybe they will start treating players better.

  23. Just heard the PGA tour has essentially stolen the LIV model a d announced 8 limited field no cut events for 20 million purse each. So basically after trashing Norman and LIV they steal the whole concept. That is twice now the PGA tour has stolen Norman's ideas (wgc's) and run with them as their own while villainizing Norman. The more the PGA tour acts the more they make me sick. By the way does the PGA tour police where every sponsor does business? My guess is they don't and don't care they are hypocrites.

  24. I enjoy watching majors and the Ryder cup. Other than that I’m not watching golf period. As many others have said, it does seem odd that golfers get the brunt of anti-Saudi sentiment. How many nations or corporations have taken “principled” stands and refused to do business with the Saudis?

  25. I completely agree, LIV format sounds boring. 0% interest in watching

  26. Presidents Cup = 100% money generating team event that inherently means nothing. There, I just explained the LIV Golf team concept. Maybe the LIV Golf tour will succeed, maybe not, but nobody knows. The Phoenix Open has succeeded, and prospered, because of drunken college students gathering at the 16th hole. Who saw that coming?

  27. He couldn't be more wrong about LIV Golf. LIV is the golfers golf league. It's at its infancy but I feel like people are going to be surprised in 5 years time.

  28. i found the LIV event interesting but i am a fan of golf. i don't care who's playing. coverage was good liked that we got to see the new young guys not just the knowns. the commentators are tops like the euro tour guys. different courses. especially nice there was no chamblee or lynch blowin.

  29. I watched 5min of the LIV broadcast and almost threw up over how bad their graphics package was. It looked like a 12yr old designed it. Took up a 3rd of the screen.

But there's no interest from me for it. No one in it is worth watching and the setup/design is boring.

It's an exhibition that fails to do what exhibitions are meant to do.

13:32 LOLOL I said all of this before Rich talked about the graphics. That's hilarious.

  30. Two things…. 1) nobody cares about PGA Tour events as fans. The anti LIV people are holding it to the standard of a Major. Not a fair comparison. Is there more interest in LIV compared to some mid tier tour event? Absolutely.

    2) You need to look beyond American shores for comparisons. Difficult I know. But cricket had this exact thing happen between 77 and 79. Tore the game apart. Now? Stronger than its ever been. Two formats coexist in the same ecosystem and makes everybody money. To a lesser extent, same thing happened in Rugby League in Australia, again 25 years later and the game is the strongest it’s ever been. Both rocked their respective sports to their cores, compromises were worked out and a path forward let to exponential growth. I’m sure golf will be fine.

  31. Rich Eisen is an old man not open to change. Water golf down? Let a player decide what they want to do. Let the PGA watch while they don’t change. Now Koepka, pretty soon PGA employees start to move. Its a matter of time that this league becomes sooooo attractive to the better players that competition will rise and people will watch.
