  1. They look good but if I was going PXG I would grab a set of Gen3 or Gen4 for the huge price difference.

  2. I almost hit the dislike button, but it wouldn't fair to Mr. Newton to punish him for Bob Parson's grating and incessant advertising, I will never even watch a club review about PXG equipment.

  3. I had the gen3 abs didn’t like the gen4 but I love the gen5 more, my reasoning it feels better and my toe strikes are very forgiving I’m playing the t models and that made all the difference in the world for me , your review was dull on these abs seemed quick but I like on course testing the best

  4. I agree with you on the pricing (just silly, really) but have to disagree with you on the looks (I personally find them to be hideous with all the bolts & screws all over). Throw in Mr. Parson’s grating voice and commercials, and I’m fairly certain I’ll never own a PXG product.

  5. Rather spend £500 on the 0211 than pay over the top for something that’s more than three times the price and not much better than it’s cheaper counterpart

  6. Really not something I would consider, mainly due to yo-yo pricing. But also because the clubs just look too busy to me. I stick with simple CB clubs without a lot of frills. Simple blades are the best looking clubs, but I’m just way too inconsistent with them and need more forgiveness.

  7. I know four buddies that game PXG irons. Two friends with Gen 2, one Gen 3 and one Gen 4. They swear by the performance of PXG irons. I like the way PXG irons look. But I’m a Mizuno fan boy and game nothing but Mizuno irons going back to the MP-32’s.

  8. I just got fitted and purchased an 8-piece set of GEN 3s for a little over $1000. The were 70% off of original price of $425 per club. They’re awesome, but certainly not worth $3400 for 8 clubs, which is what a lot of folks paid when they first came out. I hear more good stuff about the GEN 3 than any of the other generations.

  9. Ugly logo and ugly irons. May be great clubs..I don’t know but aesthetically not my cup of tea.

  10. Meh… prefer seeing something other than 7 iron after 7 iron after …… if possible

  11. Hands down they make the ugliest clubs in golf. I don't know how anyone can think those bolts or screws look good. Can never get over that.

  12. i like the look, but I also like the Taylormade TP MC and MB from back in the day.so i guess i like screws and black on silver

  13. Surely PXG being primarily a direct to consumer brand (via their fitting bias) are doing only what other brands do; when they bring out a new club they drop their prices for the prior iteration. I don’t think they drop then raise their price for the same club as you suggest. As for the launch price of the Gen5’s is it that much more expensive for a 7 club set as any other fully Forged head at launch?

  14. I have the Gen 3 and love them. I didn't see much difference when I tested the G4. The look of the G5 is not that appealing to me. We will see when I test them if they are worth switching.

  15. Many players like myself need forgiveness but it seems having pros hit the club doesn't help me decide. Could you put a circle sticker about an inch in size on the sweet spot and then hit the clubs outside that sticker and see how they do. Then each club you test you could do 20 shots outside the circle and see how they perform. Thanks.

  16. Interesting how perception has changed. When they were expensive, they were the best thing since sliced bread. Now they have reduced the pricing they’re just so so, nothing special?
