Should these SECRET CALLAWAY BALLS be ILLEGAL!?

Should these SECRET CALLAWAY BALLS be ILLEGAL!? When buying golf balls we often thin about the best golf ball for the money… Titleist Pro-V1, Taylormade TP-5. Callaway Chrome soft… they are all premium golf balls, expensive golf balls and potentially the best golf balls of 2022… but what about illegal golf balls, we have seen the illegal straight flying golf ball, we have seen a long flying golf ball, we have even seen a golf ball that only flys straight? in this v video we look at a callaway chrome soft golf ball with a difference, they are practice balls, which means they are cheaper golf balls. should you use cheap golf balls or expensive golf balls, lets find out… and let’s do it now!

  1. I'd be a bit embarrassed playing with a ball with "practice" stamped on it, although I don't doubt it would do the job. Bit like nicking a range ball to play with.

  2. Most practice balls are mainly print problems or there might be a small edge from the forming. I don't think Callaway would put those off centered balls back in circulation. This is why they say USGA conforming because they can be used in competition.

  3. Picked up a dozen at PGA Tour Superstore. Problem is that 10 of them were the X version, but I wanted the normal one. Went back and checked a few boxes, all were X heavy.

  4. You know, I always thought Woolley Park looked nice, but today I have the day off so I decided to watch the video on my TV instead of my phone. I have to say, the course looks so damned good it almost makes me want to jump on a plane and go play it!

  5. I’ve played them. Split around the greens, they are pretty good. Since the majority of golfers are novice golfers, they work. I get them for $20

Who the hell checks ball if you’re just playing? I don’t care.

  6. I use Titleist "Practice" balls in my short game practice routine. They are commonly available at a discounted price at my usual off-course pro shop. Titleist practice balls come in a rather plain white box with a mix of ProV1, ProV1X, etc.

  7. Sooooo…they are the 2020 version…they are discolored (don't pass the whiteness test) or the thickness of the writing is off…they shouldn't have any playability issues or they go to the recycle…they are 29.98 right now. Usually 34.99 versus 42.98 for 2020 regular box

  8. Definitely the best two guy’s on YouTube testing golf balls. I would use them because I do enjoy playing with the chrome soft, shame we can’t buy them over here in the U.K.

  9. When testing balls from Dick's please test their house brand Maxfli Tour & Tour X, 3 & 4 piece urethane balls.

    2 dz @ $60 4dz @ $105 Good deal @26.25dz?

Would you go so low as to test out their best selling club set Top Flite XL?

  10. Trumped by James making his bid to be El Presidente of the People's Democratic Republic of Yorkshire. If it is worth doing, it is worth doing cheaply

  11. I’ve see these quite a bit at Ducks here and was very curious about them. Have you or Chris ever done a review on the OnCore models? I searched and didn’t see anything.

  12. I've seen these before and would only ever use them as SHAG balls, never on the course, as they are more than likely recycled RANGE balls.

  13. I use the chrome soft practice balls all the time. I also used to use the Pro-V1 practice/ x-out balls as well, which have not been as available this year. For my game it just makes sense to only spend $29.99 USD instead of $49.99.

  14. Nothing worse than the old Balata balls! Hit that thin and it left a smiley face! A couple wedges and they were toast…

  15. A conforming ball that has a cosmetic defect no affecting its ball flight remains conforming.

I am not at all interested in saving money on golf balls. They're such a minor expense, yet a major factor in your game. (Or should be; some golfers just don't care.)

I would find a blemished ball or one marked "Practice" to be distracting, even if its performance is normal. Pass.

  16. Used them for an entire summer. about 14 rounds. I didn't notice any difference and I only paid $24.99 for a dozen at PGA superstore.

  17. It's not just Callaway…here in the US we can get Pro V1 practice balls and many other top brands. They are usually about $15- 20 less than the "good" ones.
