  1. I simply can’t get past the fact that it’s funded by Saudi Arabia, a country with a very questionable track record on human rights and whose leader has been linked to the murder of Jamal Khashoggi.

  2. I think it’s good for golf especially for the younger generations. You have to admit that the PGA tour is boring and it will be a matter of time until more players jump ship and it’s just been announced the Bryson has also joined which is great news for LIV GOLF

  3. So what you are saying is rich people paid a lot of money to buy other rich people to play in a tournament which was boring, but the first group of rich people don't mind as it will fool people into forgetting what they get up to and the second group of people don't mind as they don't care as they are getting richer.

  4. At the end of the day these are professional golfers, they play golf for money. If you work for yourself do you only do jobs for people you like and know how and approve of how they got there money or is a job a job? Does golf need a facelift (must admit I'm a traditionalist) but I understand that things have to change especially for media coverage. Sports today are a spectacle IF produced correctly this could very well be the end for both the R & A and PGA as THE major organizations for media coverage. Please not I say media coverage as T.V is also losing viewers. How did that song go, Things they are a changin.

  5. It's pretty much like any other golf tournament Event. Access to players is something that is upto the players. There is no competitive energy that's why players are less focused and don't care as shown in the golf scores and display. Sad for golf. This will be just an exhibition event for money grabbers. This is like Jake Paul is to boxing. Yes money is there but not the sporting integrity or atmosphere.

  6. Getting Bryson DeChambeau onboard has to be THE major coup for Liv golf. Very interesting to see the strategic PR announcements this week from both sides. PGA Tour wait for the first tee-offs before publishing the list of suspended players, and Liv Golf counterpunch – not entirely sure how the timing went – with the news of DeChambeau's signing.
The fact that Liv Golf have acquired so many venues on US soil suggests there could be a certain amount of unrest below the surface in American golf. These will have to be HQ courses who may have been snubbed or treated roughly by the PGA in the past. By 'getting into bed' with the Saudi government backed 'rebel tour', it suggests they have little regard for politics or patriotism. In fact, in typical American fashion, the 'mega-buck' rules the roost.
The sheer volume of US venues surely indicates a deliberate attempt to win over impressionable young Americans with a fresh new format and 'wow' them – always works with Americans – with the unprecedented , stratospheric prize money available.
Clearly, the PGA Tour will surely have to consider 're-modelling' in order to look after their playing members. Maybe ensuring pay checks – however small – for all participants, modify the cut system and perhaps occasionally employ the 'modified stableford' system which can provide dramatic fluctuations in the leaderboard.

  7. Professional means just that. The PGA should be just that. Picking up 4million dollars to win is wow. Can’t imagine how good that would feel. Also 54 million dollars if you can do a round of 54 or less wow this will encourage the golfers to go for it. I can only see this tour being successful. Don’t care that the PGA have spit their dummy out. As for the politics, barriers can get broken and improvements can be made, under the name of golf, let’s try to make the world better, and get together for the better. Americans have been working with Saudi for years and made Billions. Heard of ARAMCO there is no problem when it comes to Oil.

  8. Reminds me of the million dollar at sun city back in the apartheid days – nothing to lose / treated like royalty / exhibition golf

  9. You were next to me on the 2nd tee watching Sergio etc.. I agree with all your observations, we really enjoyed this format and day. We went to the British masters and we watched the 3rd tee pile up and become clogged with slow play.. not once were these players held up and we were able top catch a lot of golf.. and there was a lot of good golf too

  10. One top twenty player in the field & that won’t last! Zero OWGR Point awarded so DJ will quickly fall away.
On the other hand, this is basically a tour for aging and or B grade players. AKA “The Has Been League” or the “HBL”
Big time golf on the PGA in Montreal! Rory, JT, Finau , Burns, Sheffler, etc. Rose shoots a 60!
Still waiting to hear about LIV’s charitable/Philanthropic endeavors 🤔🤷‍♂️. I’ll be waiting a long time! Well there is the Grant for future Machete sharpeners 🤦‍♂️

  11. PGA have thrown themselves under the bus by the way they have handled this. In fact I think it helped Liv Golf. I got to watch 3 days of free golf on YT which beats paying Sky for and having to watch the same adverts every 10 minutes. The whole game is packed with money, so no difference between tours, except I did see the YT numbers favoured by a massive number of who was watching which tour😊👍
