Finally The EASY Over The TOP Fix For Golfers

Finally The EASY Over The TOP Fix For Golfers
Alistair Davies golf Uk Top 25 Golf Coach shares with you how to easily stop coming over the top in your golf swing.

This move plagues most golfers including good players. Alistair shares some great practice drills to feel and understand how to finally fix this steeping move in the downswing. Golf becomes so much easier when you start the downswing this way.

The over the top move causes slices, pull shots and a lot of compensation moves later in the swing. This golf tip will help make you feel more confident on the course.

Follow his tried and tested tips straight from his golf academy.

  1. Very good. I’ve found if I try to keep my back to the target longer helps me. It allows me to get better extension with my arms. I actually set up more to the right to stop my hips from spinning out. Granted one doing this has to swing through the ball a lot harder. There can’t be any “quit” in their swing. But that’s the only fix I have found lately because of arthritis in my body. I think as we get older our body, and I’m nearing 70, makes compensations to our physical limitations. This is one of the ways to override it. I also use really big grips because of arthritis in my fingers especially on my right hand. I use a non tapered grip. Regular grips may cause others to over hook the ball using this method. However this is what I have to do. I think we have to experiment with ways to compensate. Find something that works for us individually. Look at all of the different swings the pros use. And most of them are young. Add 40-45 years to their age, and imagine where they’d be.

  2. Excellent video Alistair on eliminating the "over the top" move! I find that my upward wrist hinge on the backswing has helped me to keep my swing on plane! Then, as you pointed out, focus on the bottom inside quarter of the ball which will create an in to out swing path on the downswing. I, for one, fall into the trap of overthinking on the golf course which usually leads to hazardous results. Keeping it simple is the best policy! Great Job Alistair! Always enjoy your videos!!

  3. Great video Alistair. Brandt Snedeker also talks about hitting the ball from the inside, he also visualises the logo or the inside quarter of the ball. 🙏🙏

  4. Love the tip on maintaining focus on the lower left quarter of the ball. Can't wait to try it.

  5. I disagree with what you are teaching here. It appears you are teaching to put the club in a "stuck" position coming down into impact. In the short video clip of the pro, the shaft plane never points above (to the right of) the ball coming down. The student will have to "flip" the club into impact, causing pushes and pulls. The pro lets the club fall into impact using the momentum of the swing. Seems like a good way to guarantee the student will have to return for more instruction to fix this "stuck" position.

  6. Great video. Thx. Could you possibly do a video on staying down on the ball? I tend to pop up ever so slightly which causes a lot of thin shots. Thx.
