The USGA is a nonprofit organization that celebrates, serves and advances the game of golf. Founded in 1894, we conduct many of golf’s premier professional and amateur championships, including the U.S. Open and U.S. Women’s Open. With The R&A, we govern the sport via a global set of playing, equipment, handicapping and amateur status rules. The USGA campus in Liberty Corner, New Jersey, is home to the Association’s Research and Test Center, where science and innovation are fueling a healthy and sustainable game for the future. The campus is also home to the USGA Golf Museum, where we honor the game by curating the world’s most comprehensive archive of golf artifacts. To learn more, visit https://www.usga.org.

  1. Lydia Ko doesn't really represent NZ anymore, except nominally – it's convenient for her to remain an NZer, since she has no competition for the Olympic women's golf spot while she has NZ nationality.

But the reality is she doesn't have a home in NZ; doesn't live there; hasn't visited the country for years, so far as I'm aware; her family doesn't live there anymore; she contributes virtually nothing to NZ golf; and she has no connection to the country apart from her passport. Mmmm, maybe the people asking the questions in these interviews need to do a bit of homework.

And Lydia's inability to speak coherent (without "um, ahh, like, kind of"), undrawling english indicates how 'Americanized' she is these days. And although the english subtitles were necessary, at least they stopped short of using an interpreter.

  2. What An Amazing Young Woman Lydia Ko Has Turned Out To Be.
As a New Zealander, I am absolutely Proud Of You Lydia Ko, You Are An Amazing Talent, And An Awesome Ambassador For Both New Zealand and South Korea. You Are Also An Inspiration To Young Girls In New Zealand, South Korea, And Worldwide Who Would Love To Follow You On The LPGA Tour.
Good Luck For The Rest Of The Women's US Open, And The Rest Of The LPGA Pro-Tour.

  3. Balanced and mature good interview also smart good spokesperson for the LPGA as a whole not dismissing anything from the individual. Good choice for the board. Watching for the weekend as well. Sawadee Khap.🤠
