  1. Everyone involved here is the issue, not just one organization here and not seeing the problem within each organization is the problem with everyone involved here. It is like choosing the lesser evil but that should not be the chooses at all. But a league that pays for travel and housing (which the pga does not do) and offers bigger purses will be very appealing to good players who want better options for the professional player and their families. That is what the avg viewer does not see and why many players said all those things about the pga. Onlt reason I know this is is that I lived it. I played professionally for many years on many tours. Now, I don't like the saudis trying to white wash there history here but my hope is others will come along who are not as morally questionable and start something more healthy for the players and advertisers also. Or force the PGA to make changes helping the avg pro more to help grow players talent rather than the PGA's wallets. Offering guaranteed contracts for card carriers should be a start and help develop players talent a lot better than the system now, which in turn will make better competition and better television because of it. The PGA has a lot more questionable money than you would ever think also, which people seem to not look into. Nothing is back and white here and every day more and more truths will come out that will change the way you see things about the future of the sport and the organizations that run them. Grow the game the right way is what we should be trying to stand for.

  2. Pat was so cringe this interview. It’s like he wasn’t even listening the whole time. Guy had to repeat himself so many times.

  3. Blood money for hasbeens, shameful to promote these diddies that support a murderous regime.

  4. Has anybody noticed ever since Pat DMCA'd the other Youtube channels, that the overall viewership on these videos is down at least 30% or more? 👀👀

  5. Reporter seem to be defending the PGA. Like no they pay. Pat bonuses yeah bonuses. 😂😂

  6. Just becoming a pro can be very expensive. Most pros eek by a meager living playing. Cost of travel, fees, everything else adds up, and when you're only Making 40-50k a year, shits not that fun.

  7. First it’s Newcastle and now this Saudi Arabia should be sanctioned they are really no better than Russia just shows the hypocrisy of the world

  8. The entire world is playing with the Saudi's one way or another. Don't signal out golfers in a shortsighted manner.

  9. Interesting to note DJ has RBC, a Canadian bank, as a top tier sponsor and he is obligated to play the Canadian open, which he is skipping to play the first LIV event in the UK. An FU to the PGA and a key sponsor, so the LIV guaranteed money must be huge. Important to note that Pro golfers are independent contractors and allowed to earn money as they choose. Qualifying to play on the PGA and then being blacklisted because you took your services to a competitor is an Anti-trust layup legal case that could break the PGA. Watch for top Korn Ferry tour players skip the PGA altogether. Interesting times. FOX may snap up the LIV broadcast rights like they have with some of the Majors.

  10. Personally the amount of kids I’ve seen jump into golf after high school like myself is crazy. Covid had a major hand in it, in my area it was the only thing you could go out and do. Not to mention how tuff it was to go on and get recruited by school since they had guy with two years of extra eligibility. Just opened the door for a lot of us to stop playing and pick up the clubs…. At least from what I’ve seen.

  11. Average age of all competitors is 43yo and DJ pocketed 120 millions to sign on the dotted line

  12. I'm not a big fan of the "I don't care who is paying me, even if they're an overall questionable af entity, like KSA" that's going around. More a sign of the times, when actors/celebs do business with Amazon, Saudi, other shady af things. I'm also weird and don't use Amazon, don't have a FaceBookl etc. but "sport-washing" is definitely a thing going on right now (same with Newcastle United), and wish some athletes would turn down the bag, instead of just looking the other way.

Also, golf is in decline. Partially due to lack of diversity (still mainly a rich, white guy sport). Public courses got a little resurgence during Covid, but for the last decade tons of them have closed, simply due to lack of funds. The coast of keeping a course going is too high, for a number of reasons. Not everyone has thousands of dollars to spend on private course every year, or is willing to pay $80/person/round.

  13. I'm happy for the low ranked players, shaking my head at the top ranked players. The PGA Tour does amazing work week in and week out.

  14. Unprepared, interrupting and annoying tank top guy ruined the segment. Shut the heck up and let the people who know what they're talking about speak.

  15. I don't get why Phil has gotten so much flack for originally denouncing the Saudis. They quite literally are still beheading members of the LGBTQ community. The fact they have to "soften" their view from the world says it all. Crazy how much of their money controls the US and our media. Hoping they don't pull a Khashoggi on Big Lefty.

  16. The main issues that people seem to have with LIV is the funding source and Greg Norman's involvement. If this were being bankrolled by, say, Elon Musk and Jack Nicklaus were the face of it you'd have a TON of top players jumping ship. I do feel like the PGA Tour provides benefits (i.e. insurance and retirement) to the players after a certain number of years and they do take good care of these guys at tour stops with tons of perks. That said, the Tour is being exposed a little bit by this thing and they aren't used to it. I'm interested to see how it plays out.
