Pro Golfers That REFUSED The Saudi Rebel Golf League..

Welcome back to Sportopia, today on the channel we are going to share to you The top golfers that turned down the saudi rebel golf league. The Saudi Arabia-backed $2.9 billion rival golf league is “dead in the water” according to Rory McIlroy after Bryson DeChambeau and Dustin Johnson backed away from the controversial plans. DeChambeau was reportedly offered a $200 million contract to turn his back on the PGA Tour to become the posterboy of the Super Golf League. But in another massive blow for the Saudis in the space of a few days, DeChambeau is staying put after several big names also announced their commitment to staying over the weekend.

“While there has been a lot of speculation surrounding my support for another tour, I want to make it very clear that as long as the best players in the world are playing the PGA Tour, so will I,” DeChambeau said in a statement on Twitter. “As of now, I am focused on getting myself healthy and competing again soon. I appreciate all the support.” Hours earlier, two-time major champion Dustin Johnson also said he’s “fully committed” to the PGA Tour. Four-time major winner Rory McIlroy said he was “so sick” of answering questions about the proposed league, which has yet to confirm its first signed-up player. Calling it a “not-so Super League” McIlroy noted that none of the game’s rising 20-something stars, such as world number one Jon Rahm and second-ranked Collin Morikawa, had committed. Watch this video as we reveal the top golfers that turned down the saudi rebel golf league.

  1. Both full of shit wish someone with integrity would get involved and pga doesn't promote or help people with real viable perhaps your winning skill!! Guys that can really play but don't have the funding .Do you think pga could reach into it's coffers and help these guys? Obvious lousy greed answer is no!!

  2. 1) Who is really going to play in this new league? 2) What television channel will carry these tournaments? 3) Which golf courses will agree to host these events? 4) Which companies will pay to have their advertising associated with these events? This will be a giant fail and cause the legacy of several players to go down the toilet, like Norman and Micklesongd. Saudi Arabia has a lot of oil money, but has a horrible human rights history. Who will want to be associated with that? Money hungry people.

  3. All news good or bad is always good news for SGL. Competition is always good for any sport…monopoly is always a bad thing.

  4. So, the bottom line, all of the top players showed interest until they were threatened by the PGA tour. I hope this will all works it self out and we can all agree to "LIV and let LIVE".

  5. The PGA is a monopoly. They do not want any competion. Competion is good. I thought players were independent contractors. They should be allowed to play wherever they want. The US Open, The Open, and the Masters are not PGA events. This is evident by the fact that amateurs can compete in these tournaments. The real Majors should not be affected.

  6. Too bad the narrator doesn’t know who he’s talking about. It obvious, since he can’t even pronounce the names of three of the best know golfers in the world.

  7. They tried to get an honest person to be there face of LIV, Jack Nicholas, turned them down 👎. Then they turned to the snake in the grass, ahh carp, ahh cat fish, some bottom dweller forget his name. 🤣 Hahahahahaha 😂 just kidding folks THE Shark, they call him shark for a reason. Mmmmmmmmmm?

  8. 4:28 – The word squashed was used – when the appropriate word would have been quashed . Although sounding similar – they have different meanings.

  9. Pga tour deffinitely has a long historical tradition of offering year-round prestigious tournaments which goes back almost a century old. These tournaments are respected & highly recognized by the tour players & their patrons alike.
Therefore, the Pga tour should not be shooked up by any newly emerging golf leagues anywhere in the world. Nobody/no new golf leagues can ever take away Pga tour's long established history, traditions, reputations & legacies.
So, there's no good reason for Pga tour to restrict & regulate personal decisions of their regular Pga tour players from joining & playing in any new golf leagues.
Because no Pga tour players with their right minds will ever completely take absence from many important, high-profile, prestigious & year-round Pga tournaments, including the Majors which are intrumental to them leading to Pga's prestigious Players-Hall-of-Fame inclusion.
*It's selfish & dictatorial of Pga tour(Monahand & his clans) to deprive Pga tour players of their freedom to decide/choose which tour leagues they want to join & play in w/out losing their Pga membership which they have rightfully earned accordingly.

  10. 🤣🤣😂😂you must be an American ga tour official … have you heard the saying – everyone has a price …. 🏌🏾‍♂️🏌🏾‍♂️🏌🏾‍♂️🏌🏾‍♂️🏌🏾‍♂️🏌🏾‍♂️🏌🏾‍♂️🏌🏾‍♂️🏌🏾‍♂️lol

  11. Let the washed up players and the ones who can't win on the PGA play over there. See ya, don't come back.

  12. Well, let's see here – Norman is just a greedy narcissist – no secret there. For Phil, it's a way to settle his gambling debts and make some money as he can no longer win on the PGA tour. For the Saudis, it's just PR and they know they can "buy" respect on the open market. So, the LIV tour is not about golf – it's about money and image.

  13. it will be interesting to see what the sponsors does, as the association with the Saudi's might hurt their international appeal. The fist year of uncertainty with the SGL will lead to a field of has-beens, wanna-bees and no names. But the allure of the Saudi Riyal mustn't be underestimated.

  14. The PGA and European Tours have sanctioned events there for Years. The Biggest Names always showed up,,, why? Because of the extravagant Appearance Fees. When Georgia Hall won there. She said they were treated like Rock Stars. Warren Buffett can't control Crypto and He wants to Destroy it. Anything that can't be controlled must be destroyed. In no way, am I condoning or supporting The Saudis. But the Hypocrisy of The PGA is ridiculous. Pot, Kettle , Black. This Beef goes back to when Norman tried to organize World Class Events years ago, and got beat into submission. Shortly after The PGA is introduced the WGC schedule, and Greg is still smarting. They were like hey Tiger, Phil, Dustin go on over there and play for some of that Guaranteed funny money. But now there is a Year Round tour that guarantees Year Round Funny Money. ,,,, Say What now,,,,,
    Mikey Out. Oooooh Yeah!!!!!

  15. Finally, an honest explanation of this sh!t-show. I haven’t read one comment I disagree with…

  16. Every single person that made a comment here buys gas from the Saudis that's why they have all the money to start a new league so there you go you're part of the problem

  17. I consider the PGA a monopoly. How many millions of golfers are there in the United States? Lots and lots, and, Yes, they are not all proficient enough to make their living by competitive golf. The number of college graduates who make it to the tour is infinitesimally smaller than the people who make it to pro football or pro basketball. Those people get to negotiate their pay and benefits. A pro golfer must win his pay.
I don't understand why the golfers would not be attracted to guaranteed monies

  18. Can respect any player or fan that doesn't want to associate with a country that has such a terrible human rights record but dont be a hypocrite. Stop watching Disney movies, the NBA and toss out your iPhone.

  19. Doesn't seem like any notable golfers are going anyway. Screw Mickelson. Sergio has talked bad about the PGA and America in general for over a decade…so good riddance to him. Kevin Na may be the only one worth losing out of those going to the Saudi league.

  20. I do think Norman has a massive ego. Nor sure why Phil is tarnishing himself. He won a major last year and has won multiple times on the senior PGA tour. Is it really money for him? I can't imagine that is his main reason. This guy has to be worth hundreds of millions of dollars. Just does not make much sense to me. Having said this, I still think professionals should play where they want to play.
