HOW TO PLAY BETTER GOLF | Improve your approach play with LET Tour Pro Sophie Walker

YGT Rory and LET pro golfer Sophie Walker take on a course challenge in the stunning San Roque in the Costa del Sol.

With shots gained stats currently revolutionising the way the best golfers in the world think about how to play better golf, LET Tour pro golfer Sophie Walker and YGT Rory take to one of the best golf courses in Spain to show you how to play better golf.

In previous years, Rory has hit some of the worst golf shots ever, but since taking a golf lesson to hit better golf drives with Mark Crossfield, Rory has stopped slicing his driver and made it the best part of his golf game. How else can he get better at golf? The easiest way to get better at golf and shoot lower scores is to improve your approach play and proximity to the hole.

  1. Played there few weeks ago… old course is absolutly amazing 👍⛳… if I was 15 again I would love to stay in their golf academy 😂⛳

  2. 100% agree. The world has gone mad with distance. If you can't stick your wedge in there, what's it matter? We should start our practice on the greens and work back, but EVERYONE seems to go the other way around.

  3. Defo need to work on my irons. Visited the mecca in Turkey and tried your chip Rory. Failed miserably!!! Loved the vlog again, all this content is fantastic pal

  4. Great vid Rory. Some fabulous driving by you there…as good as I’ve seen you 👏 But the point is well made… approach play is so key to reducing scores. It’s interesting to observe at Top Tracer equipped ranges now, how many players head straight for the long drive section, whilst the better players focus much more on the approach challenge area. The key to lower hdcps lies here. I’ve been a cat 1 player for 30 years and whilst I don’t hit it as long off the tee as I used to, I can still comfortably shoot in the 70s on a regular basis through being a strong iron and wedge player.
You and Sophie have done a great job with these vlogs from Spain. San Roque is a great place to golf and stay too….particularly if you like a sherry!

  5. Great vid', noticed it's still with your old clubs 🙂 Your driving was awesome and your putting was good, one thing I have noticed with your poor puts for ages now is that your back swing wobbles as you transition to forward stroke.. sometimes it is really pronounced… looking for an example 13.09 & 15.09 might be one .. maybe something to work on?

  6. Just a brilliant vlog Rory, having watch you for a few years now and the fun and games youve had with driving the ball, these days just don't change a thing with your driver mate, it's working great…
As yousrelf, I,m working on the same thing the approach irons shots at the moment…work in progress shall one say..😊
This has been a brilliant series of vlogs with Sophie on board

  7. If better at putting I would do have lower scores however my iron play needs to improve first
