In this video we review how to play golf using the scramble format. We cover the rules of this golf format and discuss the tactics involved.
While this video covers the 4-golfer team version of the scramble, the 2-golfer team version is not much different. The key difference is that whereas a 4-person team would play against all other 4-person teams in the field, in a 2-person team format both teams play against each other in match play.
That means that each hole is won or lost (or tied) based on whichever team posted the better score on that hole.
Generally speaking, playing golf using the scramble golf format is a great way to introduce beginners to the game of golf as they don’t have to play from bad lies all of the time. Instead, they get to pick up their ball after bad shots and play from the best ball location out of the team.
