Why would anyone PAY that much… for these WEDGES!?

Today we take a look at certain type of wedge faces and why I think we are spending way too much money on them when they don’t perform!

  1. By the title I thought this would be about the replacement faces on those clunky, circa 2009-2010 Taylor Made wedges… I was never into those things, even as a former professional. And oh — nice trick shot, hippie 😉

  2. I think a lot of people don't understand bounce and grind. Turf interaction is everything from 5 yards to a full shot. You've got to understand what is going on underneath.

  4. By far the best and most interesting and fun videos on YouTube mate and where do you get the ideas from for the trick shots and do you practice many different one's?

  5. Used Vokeys ain’t my fav video to watch but the introduction!!! You upped your game dude.
p.s where can I get the hat?

  6. Buying a vokey with a significant wear mark on the face might be the worst way to spend your money in golf.

  7. I hate used wedge shopping. Too many people spend way to much time hitting dirty balls on a sandy range burning the face up. You can spot “range warrior”wedge a mile away, the face and front of the sole is completely worn smoothand raw.

  8. I have a 48 vokey sm8 i bought brand new for 90£
52 cobra tour trusty brand new and a 56 cobra trusty brand new. Them i bought for 60£ each.
So you can find brand new in the wrapper from a big golf store if you spend time to look around. Mine are from stores in sweden. But at the end of the year sale when they try and get rid of stuff is the perfect time. Wedges get hit so much and is the club i practies the most with so I wanted new groves.

  9. Swapped my sm6s out last year for Cleveland cbx2
Had bought them year before secondhand sold them all for 25 quid more than I bought them and had used them hard 😁

  10. I really enjoy these cost saving videos as returning golfer to the game. I've recently assembled a new bag and bought 50 54 and 58 sm6 wedges the most expensive 1 was £70 for the 50 degree and took me ages to get because I didn't want to pay over the odds but I got my 58 for £55 and £60 for my 54 but my mate has the Kirkland's and £150 for 3 brand new wedges are brilliant I just don't like carrying a 60 and the gapping for my yardages isn't quite right. But are we really good enough to know the difference I'd have the Kirkland's if the changed the lofts all day!

  11. I paid 40 pound each for Cleveland wedges with milled faces in immaculate condition. Why pay more 😏😏

  12. 7:08 "At least you get to go to American Golf, hit a demo one, try it with someone that obviously knows a bit more about you than golf"
Accidentally roasted American Golf employees there xD

  13. I still buy and use Cleveland tour action 588 rtg 51, 56, & 60 wedges. Can pick up excellent ones for around $20.00. Sometime cheaper if the grip is shot.

  14. My favorite "Special" comment I hear on and on about is when some amateur always tells me Vokeys are the softest wedges they have ever played…..ALERT: Theyre cast.

  15. I think some people maybe thinking a newer model somehow exceeds an immaculate older model….they are wrong but then it's their money.

  16. Great video, one small point though, Vokey’s are actually cast not forged, makes the price even more shocking.

  17. I have already learned this lesson with wedges, I actually go looking for for the older Vokey wedges, i.e. the 256-08, etc, because I can pick them up second hand in decent shape for around $20 tops. I actually picked up a well loved 56 degree SM6 for $5 out of my local course's orphaned club bin with a very worn face and chunks gouged out of the sole. I soon found another 56 wedge, a SM5 in great condition elsewhere and picked it up for $20. I then took my $5 well worn SM6, and traded it for a 252-10 in decent shape at a local sporting thrift shop. All the Vokey Wedges are great, always looking for more since they cost so little. By contrast through and in the vein of this video, the same golf shop that sold me the 56 Degree SM5 for $20 also had a 58 Degree SM7 that caught my eye, but they were asking $150 for it used.

  18. i brought a Bettinardi blue wedge (pricey), it is no better than my old King cobra wedge, so people don't get sucked in by the BS marketing, all they want is your HARD earned cash!!!!

  19. Just picked up a 2009 Vokey 58-04 in great shape for $29? Love the wide sole and feels better to me than some of the newer Vokeys.

  20. SM6 M grind 56° might be the best looking wedge ever made. I like the chrome I have SM8s but I can’t get rid of my lone SM6

  21. That’s literally how upgrades work? All newer models are more expensive this video makes no silence. People want the newest versions

  22. Hi Simon Im looking to upgrade some of my clubs how can I contact you regarding me selling swopping clubs with you?
