The Single Plane golf swing is not a quick-fix golf technique. It is a system, beginning at address, that simplifies the most important moment of the golf swing – impact.

But…do you know how to practice your Single Plane Swing perfectly? Watch Todd on the range with his brother and Co-Founder of Graves Golf, Tim Graves, PGA as they talk about The Single Plane Golf Swing and how you can set yourself up to properly learn and practice the system.

  1. Todd < I went and checked the old guys, Gene Litter, Byron Nelson, Julius Boros and others ,and MOST all of them Never invaded the space by standing up, they were either flat footed at impact or rolled to the inside of the right foot! That subject invading the hitting area, could it be a modern day thing, which "THINKS" that is where the power comes from?

  2. Good to see the lives. Shot my best round of 79 today with the SWS swing from the blue tees.

  3. Thanks Todd and Tim! You isolate the upper arm to find the grip, due to range of motion, but in the swing is the upper arm behaving like it is isolated? Doesn't it have more range of motion, just like if you are not isolating with the other hand? Or is it because of you not rolling your wrists that it reaches the same limit as if it is isolated? Just trying to wrap my head around it.

  4. To add to my comment if your on the fence about trying this don’t be. Give it a shot and you will be amazed. I have actually added distance due to the straightness of my shots.

  5. Todd are you feeling a pulling of the left shoulder through implant or focusing on maintaining angles of right arm and just rotating?

  6. Thanks for this, gentlemen! Golf has eluded me always but having been a pain doctor, largely self taught yet able to pass the certification examination first time and seeing that too many pain doctors did not delivery quality, consistent care that was accepted by the only reason for our existence, the patients. Moe Norman was idiosyncratic in his actions and thinking, some even say it was autism. Moe, as I have read it, was largely self-taught, and his special gifts allowed him to know he had discovered a better way to strike a golf ball and believe only he could learn it because Moe knew he was special(likely the reason Moe was able to overcome the way he was treated). Moe’s idiosyncrasies also allowed him to know he was right and not be dissuaded by the ‘masses’ on the PGA who had, almost all of them, been ’schooled’ to make ‘the one big mistake’ as you succinctly describe it which creates the ‘elegant’ looking swings we see on TV every week. You have done what Moe, in my opinion, was convinced no one else could do. You looked past his idiosyncrasies to the physics and mechanics and took him unconditionally seriously and proved it could be taught, learned and taken to the course. Had Moe been permitted to do the latter, taking it to the PGA courses, he may have been the greatest tour player in the game. Moe was beaten by intolerance and you, Todd, were able to see his genius without prejudice. Thanks, man, you have, aside from saving a genius from obscurity, you have done, as JFK said you ‘have done the other thing’ you have proven that Moe discovered a genius way to consistently repeatedly hit a golf ball which is, in my view, the Holy Grail of the game. THANKS, TODD!

  7. Finally after 25 years I had my first hole in one with the SPS, 4 iron 175 meters. Cheers fellas.

  8. This is great.I really enjoy the way both of you explain the single plane swing. It is alot of fun to practice and play and it really takes the guess work out of it.I watch others at the driving range and it is as if they just can't figure it out with the conventional swing.I use my Graves single plane booklet and it is a big help to me.Thank you Todd and Tim and of course Moe

  9. Great video! Signing up for Gold plan! Question, when you say you stand 21 inches from the ball with a 6 iron, is that measured from ball to front toe? Assuming that distance changes for driver as well?

  10. Hey Todd, great videos! I've been implementing the SPS swing over a month now and each time I come back to your channel I find another nugget about the swing I'm able to take to the range each visit and work on. Lately though, I've noticed during my sessions my mid to upper back/spine can get quite sore. Would this be caused by improper tilt or not rotating properly during the transition into the follow through and getting stuck into a side bent position creating the stress? Even though I'm having this issue, my striking consistency and shot pattern/ball flight have improved alot and I am enjoying learning the SPS.
Thank you for work and putting all this information out for us to have access to! I'm considering your online academy as well for the video feedback.

  11. Hi guys, Are there any books that Moe used to read that you can recommend, I recall reading that he used to listen to motivational audiobooks etc. or any mental game books. Cheers.

  12. Ok. So stop calling it a swing and start calling it a slam. And a grand slam it is too. There ya go, you're teaching a golf grand slam. Put this term into your teaching.

  13. Excellent information!!! I hope I am able very soon to get out to one of your schools to take advantage of your expertise and hard work.

  14. As a former baseball player with stronger swing speed and above average ball striking, should I use graphite or steel iron shafts? Right now, I'm using rifle steel shafts. Buying irons soon and want to be dialed in.
