A-Tier Tournament at HUDSON MILLS! | Michigan Disc Golf | Miss Frisbees

With the border open, Chris and I are trying to hit as many tournaments in the states as we can! This week I got the chance to play in the Lower Peninsula Open at Hudson Mills. This property has 2 courses and 48 holes! So the layout for the tournament might be a little complicated but each round we played 18 holes with the combination of each course and some temporary holes added.
I hope you enjoy this type of video and if you have suggestions let us know!
Thank you so much for watching!

  1. Some great kicks on the first couple holes to help keep the confidence high! Nicely done all around, despite your nerves girl!

  2. it is just new bag yips… when you change discs, especially a whole new company. It takes a minute. For some reason it just makes you feel slightly off. You got it! Keep it up.

  3. Your nerves did you no favours there – on all three rounds. And yet you came second. If you could steady the ship even just a little your results would be amazing. Great video and super voiceover. I look forward to seeing more this season. Thanks for sharing your adventure.

  4. Well done on just getting out there and doing it. Keep it up and have belief in your abilities, like you said, you KNOW how to throw these shots. 🙂

  5. I think…you are thinking too much about how you feel. I am guessing that you think too much about being nervous. And that worries you. But being nervous is normal. It’s okay to be nervous but you have to accept it. Tell yourself “ I’m nervous but I can still play well.” By accepting it, nervousness no longer will be in the forefront of your being. Instead you can concentrate on making the throws you know you can. That should be the only thing you think about as you play—the throw you’re going to make. You could try: Visualizing it first; then visualize it as you make a practice throwing motion. Then make the throw. Watch Catrina or Paige or Kristin. They are totally focused on visualizing the throw they are about to make and nothing else. They are not thinking about mechanics or the crowd or their nerves, only about the throw they are about to make. And don’t think they don’t get nervous, too—they do! But they accept it as part of how they are supposed to feel.
Chantel, you are a very good player. You have the skills to be on the Tour. You got this! Let’s go! 🥏

  6. Thanks for sharing your journey with the world! Really fun to watch. Thinking about adding some Prodigy to the bag… 🤔🤔

  7. I suppose you will think I am being a wise guy, but I'm not. Do you drink? Perhaps a drink before your round will calm you down. Just a thought. Many people I know swear they play better after a drink.

  8. Try the Duraflex p model s for your putt. it's similar to a judge. it has extra glide you will like it

  9. What weight discs do you throw? Your D4, for example. My wifey is interested for her bag. Thanks for sharing what you’re doing, and congrats on the progress!!!

  10. Awesome seeing you play a local tournament to me, you played so well!
I managed to snag 3rd place in MA2 at this one!
To answer your question about Northridge yes it's a church complex that put in a sweet course around their facilities.

  11. You play really well. If you can eliminate the really bad holes, you'll be right there. Just imagine yourself playing a round with Chris. Just have fun with it.

  12. Y'all should go play Rolling hills metropark. A really cool putting course called the labyrinth. 2 full 18 hole courses. The newer course has some tall grass holes you might want to skip. The woods holes are very worth playing, very challenging too

  13. That putting was so not you! But I get it, cause I’ve also lost my confidense in a tournament.

  14. Working on your core will improve your stance, balance and the way you putt. Try working on your core for the next 90 days.. you'll see a major difference. Your confidence will come. Also, be grateful you tied for 2nd at an A-Tier

  15. Camera work was fantastic! I've been following you since the beginning and it is SO frustrating to watch you mentally blow up each tournament because you can play SOOOOO much better. If you could stay out of your head you would easily win these tournaments. Keep fighting, work on your nerves and really work on your putting. You were an amazing putter back in the day! We're all rooting for you.

  16. Muscles don't have a memory, sorry. Without your brain, your muscles can do exactly nothing.
It is 100% brain memory, only.

I suggest you read the thoroughly amazing book, "The Inner Game of Golf" by Tim Gallwey.
This book will provide you the mental toolkit to control your own mind, and your own game.
Because golf is a game of the mind, not the body – as my good friend Yeti Reading says, "Disc Golf is nothing but timing and technique. And the other 95% is mental!"

How are you doing with the Spin & Throw technique? I see you are still using the powerless "Poke & Pull" form.
Please check it out soon, and change to the proper professional throwing form. The earlier you do, the faster you will achieve your goals.

  17. Man, I wish my standstill form was as good as yours! It looks so effortless and smooth.

  18. I'm one of the course designers for Northridge Church Disc Golf. I hope you enjoyed yourself. It's definitely dried up in the last week.

  19. Congratulations on your great finish 👏 👍🏻! Hang in there, keep entering tournaments and before you know it you'll have those nerves under control 😊😉👍🏻
