Coco didn't do bad in this match but Sakkari took advantage of the forehand of Coco and never lost control of the match. Coco gotta improve that forehand if she wants to make it to the top.

Always impressed when tennis players who did NOT grow up on clay play so well. SO MUCH easier to transition from clay to hard then hard to clay.
When she was younger coco seems she can beat any players, but right know she is stagnant and alway loose against top player even if she put agood fight. I think she needs to play more 250 event to win titles, and gain confidence and go back to big tournaments

What a match! Sakkari was 6-4, 3-1, but Gauff kept things tight in the second set, serving better. But, Sakkari was proved too much for the American here. She certainly has return to form just in time for RG. My pick to win RG is still inside my pocket. Strange and beautiful things has happens in the life on WTA tour
Gauff will never succeed if she continues to play safe tennis. Sakkari was the aggressor not afraid to her chances and deserved the win.
In a few years Coco will be dominant. World class Serve, world class backhand, speed, all court game. You can see it. As for changing her forehand, she has the same forehand grip as Iga. No one is suggesting the 20 something year old change hers…So, it's like anything else the more they hit to her forehand, it will become a true weapon. It's obvious with the tools she possesses, she is going to be a multiple major winner and world number 1.

Coco’s drop shots have been so clean lately, resulting in almost clean winners every time. Her net game is also at a pretty high level. She’s going to be quite the player as she keeps on improving. Congrats to Sakkari who’s fire and attitude one can’t, but love.
All Coco needs is another coach or advisor to get her to the next level
