There are 100s of options when it comes to golf balls. Donal puts his PhD in Chemistry to good use to look at all the different characteristics – feel, spin, launch, colour, and even patterns.
So which one should you be using? Donal take a great cross section of the range available at @Golfbidder to help you make the decision on what to fill you bag with.

Love your videos
I wish there was a gallbladder local, I'd work for you…. I'm and equipment but and agree with all you teach…..great refresher confirming what I know already
Should have added during compression part effect of temp on compression….just a suggestion
I use the Maxfli Tour.
Will be changing to Taylor Made – Tour Response when the weather gets better, currently Bridgestone Tour B RXS.
Hehe won't try steal range balls? Broke student here I only play stolen range balls!
Play anything in the winter, wet ground and greens so no run and hitting off mats! During the season use TP5X Pix, I like the feel and the alignment aid from the pix suits my eye. Tried the Srixon Divide this winter, bought a sleeve for the winter mixed, and really enjoyed pitching and putting with them, but not sure if I would use them in a major comp.
When I was playing an hitting long, Titlist, a ball called 'tour 432' maybe a cheap ball, but good with irons. Ping iron red dot 1983,? on sale $ 180 apice on sale 3 to wedges, no info on them.???)
Srixon AD333. Cheaper than premium, reliable, great reviews from the average golfer.
Fantastic video love using Pro V1x but so pricey but Taylormade RZX soft balls are great
Tm rbz soft thinking of giving the new Kirkland a go that as meant to be more durable. As the last on spins great just cuts up to easy.
I used Vice Pro Soft. Also used Callaway supersoft. I enjoyed both of them. Now I am going to try Srixion Soft Feel. My swing speed is in the low 90's. I will know which I prefer in spring.
Noodle for us that chunk it 😎
I have been playing for about 12 months and initially went for the premium balls, Pro V1, TP5 etc, but more recently I have been playing Callaway Supersofts and really like them – great off the driver and very nice when putting.
The Bridgestone E6 and Srixon Soft Feel works best for me
When I'm buying I import Wilson Smartcore's from the US in 24 or 30 packs for about £35. You get the best of both worlds with these as you can wallop them but they can also generate some back spin on high wedge shots as well. I'm also always happy to scavenge a Cally or ten out in the wilds and Srixon AD333's are decent allrounders as well. Pro V's, I just can't get along with them and it might be down to the layers as Donal said. One thing he didn't mention in the video is dimple patterns. My experience from a higher handicapper's view is that hexagonal dimple patterns seem to be straighter and more stable in flight. I've also seen dimples in dimples on ball. Has anyone tried these? has anyone noticed a difference in higher or lower dimple counts too?
Faster swingers, and by that I don't mean Saturday night lotharios who get around a bit, beware!
I also experimented with a box of 50 compressions when I turned 50, largely because I have sense of humour but because I also play like a Klingon – batter everything and go through their pockets for loose change later. Turns out however that I still have a decent swing speed so the squishy factor and my swing imperfections had the balls performing acrobatics that the RAF would have been proud to call their own.
If you tend to fade or draw that extra 10-20 yards of distance can be the difference between staying on track and getting badly lost in the trees. I've always hated the word "Percentage" but we all know that accuracy is what gets scores down. Unless, of course, your name is Bryson and you measure ball distance in time zones.
Am 65 and the Longest Ball I played Last year was the TM TP5 , old Ball player with pretty Good Speed Still!
Volvik or kirkland seem to fit my golf game the best but there are a lot of others that can be fun to play.
has the price gone up them recently?
I use the chrome soft with the green shamrock for luck!
