You guys talking about flying is priceless! I flew over 4 million miles in my career and experienced it all; sideways landings, multiple aborted landings (and takeoffs), massive turbulence drops, all of it. :- )
Love listening to you guys grind your brains over concepts like conservation of mass, keep that shit up, although I'm sure your high school chemistry teachers that listen are shaking their heads in disappointment, clearly nothing else stuck in your brains except sports.
There's only a few processes that can change the total physical mass of a system, and even those are usually converting mass into energy which are one in the same if you're a fan of Einstein, E=mc^2 baby!
