Golf Pride CPX grip review B2B 10

While doing a Boxes to Builds #10 we were asked to install Golf Pride CPX grips. The CPX grip is the new model from folks at GP. A soft grip with Quilting and EXO patterns on the CPX grip. Watch to see other techniques for golf club building and repairs.
To be clear about flex of the club, the flex does naturally change however, when measuring the flex with the grip on we need to add cpms to get to the actual flex.

  1. Love the Content Jim. Question: Do you think that Golf Pride will ever get as big as the Jumbo Max? Maybe a bigger version of their standard Jumbo grip.

  2. I've tried that CPX grip on Darb's clubs… lovely tacky texture to it. The only thing I didn't like was that he plays with four layers, imagine what that did to the right hand feel 🤔🤔🤔 maybe a little on the fat side 😂😂😂

  3. I really enjoy your channel, I’ve learned so much. One question I have is how do you tell what grip size do I need? A friend told me I needed to change to mid-sized ones.

  4. I have very upright stance due to back issues and hit up on the ball. Very little to no lag. Comfortable club lengths 40"-38". I need iron heads that can be bent significantly to get the correct lie (75 degree ish) and lofts to achieve the correct carry distances for each club. I figure the 5 iron would need to be approx. 15 to 19 degree loft. What club head (s) do you recommend for this?
I have some Mizuno JPX800's would they work? Thank you.

  5. Put this grip on my driver and played yesterday. It is really soft, comfortable and incredibly tacky. I never lost a shot because of a slipping grip. I would recommend this grip over the CP2. Will do the fairway and hybrid this week. Great content Jim.

  6. Well, I got on the “midsize grip bandwagon”. What a mistake for me. I have small hands. Took me a while to figure out that I need a regular size grip. I had lost that “flexibility hinge”.
Thanks to your great videos (& lots of practice on cheap gear) I did my first full set reshafting and regripping. You guys rock!

  7. I have 13 CPX grips in a bag sitting next to me in Midsize waiting for me to install them. Looking forward to it.

  8. Firstly, you have to explain the bullet hole in the door. Secondly, I’ve tried the CPX’s and they are legit!

  9. I put these on my irons and driver a couple weeks ago. I love the feel out of the gate but today went to the range (hit them a couple other times at the range) and today they felt kinda dusty. I feel like to keep that tacky feel it would require washing after every range or course use.

  10. Mac I could use a suggestion. I've talked to you before about the Tacoma irons I have with the KBS tour regular steel shafts. And you were correct at my age which is 80 I cannot hit them. I have too many off-brand golf clubs lying around and I know that you are affiliated with Accra. There are many pull-outs on eBay could you give me a recommendation in the weight range and I assume I need a senior shaft which I will have to do this all myself but it's something I like to do. But I played two rounds with these golf clubs and have yet to hit a green in regulation. I know this is mostly health-related problems but I could use a suggestion. I can't buy no means afford to buy any more clubs and I honestly am thinking about giving the game up but it's hard to let go. Thanks in advance.
