Golfers of Different Skill Levels Take On Pinehurst #2 | BREAKING PINEHURST Holes 1-4

Welcome BACK to the latest installment of the Breaking series, where we put golfers of varying handicaps up against Major Championship courses from the same tees as the pros. Today, we’re at Pinehurst #2, the three-time (soon to be four) host of the U.S. Open.

Chris Triplett is an 8 handicap out of Detroit, MI – he’s attempting to break 90
Liz Breed is a scratch golfer out of Brooklyn, NY – she’s attempting to break 80
Mark Stagmeier is an 18.8 handicap (wildly specific) – he’s attempting to break 90

Pinehurst was designed by Donald Ross (designer of Aronimink GC, Seminole GC, Oak Hill GC, etc.) and opened in 1907. Pinehurst is home to some of the greatest moments in U.S. Open History; notably, Payne Stewart’s par save to win the 1999 U.S. Open over Phil Mickelson.

Follow along this four-part series to find out who breaks Pinehurst… and who gets broken.

  1. "It Will Be Very Good For You, And Most Amusing For Me."
this Gandalf quote pretty much summed up my Golf game for the first year and a half when i started playing!
also Love the Content RGC always puts out! 100% one of my favorite channels on youtube!

  2. I've played Barton Hills and it's crazy to see how even working with different elevation, grass, soil, etc. Ross uses so many signature characteristics in his courses. You can always tell when you're playing a Donald Ross course.

  3. My Monday has turned for the better! Love this series. Props to Liz for playing the back tees, what a warrior. Hope to be on this series soon! Fingers crossed.

  4. I love how one caddy is saying he's here to make you feel good about your shots, meanwhile Liz's caddy is shit talking her haha.

  5. This is honestly the best series out of all TV/streaming services IMO and probably many others as well, I get excited every time I see a new one come out! It’s amazing to see the progression of your channel, not surprisingly though you put in a lot of work well done EAL and team!!

  6. Great timing, I played the No. 2 course just two weeks ago. One of the best golf experiences I’ve ever had.

  7. Mark coming out with a bogey on one, while Chris and Liz got a double and a triple is the most golf thing I’ve ever seen.

  8. amazing people/golfers…. not the best at picking the best shot tracer colors 😂

  9. Wow I just got into this series a few days ago and have watched all episodes. Cant believe a new one just dropped, keep em coming!

  10. "…and so do all who live to see such times. But that is not for them to decide. All we have to decide is what to do with the time that is given us."
My favorite Gandalf quote (and its gotta be Grey). Pretty much is how I hope to approach golf, life, and anything in between… and there is nothing better than starting a week with a new breaking series!

  11. Gandalf the Grey – “It is not despair, for despair is only for those who see the end beyond all doubt. We do not.”

  12. Any reason for mis-counting Chris' strokes on 3? Stroke and distance means he was hitting 4 from the pine straw, not 3

  13. By far my favorite series currently, and nothing beats the smooth buttery commentary we have been gifted! 😀 Maybe someday Ill be courageous enough to apply to be on this…

  14. I'm so excited that you're doing another series. Please can you do one in South Africa, and I'll be a participant, so you need only 2-3 more players. Please please please!!!
Sun City or Arrabella, your choice. 😁😁😁

  15. Being a caddy is still an occupation choice? I mean other than being a caddy on a tour.

  16. I cannot believe the amount of excitement and jealousy that occurs while watching this video. To know that anyone and everyone can be a part of these videos is both the most life changing and hugely saddening (when not selected) thing in the world. Congratulations to living out your fantasy at a golf mecca. Holding my breath until holes 5-9.

  17. "Liz is the front runner here at +7, she only has 12 shots to play with though over the next 14 holes in order to break 80" …. Im confused
