This will change golf forever! The NEW WHS TEE SYSTEM golf clubs aren’t using!

In today’s video I’m at Woolley Park Golf Club in Barnsley, where I’ll be showing 36 Handicap (Beginner Golfer) Lee Willies, how he can use the NEW WORLD HANDICAP SYSTEM to help him play quicker, better, more enjoyable golf!

Although the new system is recognised, golfers, both ladies and gents, don’t seem to be using it?

Whilst us established golfer’s might be set in our way’s, let’s no stop the new generation of golfers enjoying golf!

  1. Used a tour response stripe ball Saturday & Sunday and putted brilliantly both rounds. I Usually can’t putt for toffee. Great improvement there Lee keep it up 👍🏌️

  2. Brilliant Gaz – you always seem to bring content that’s different to the other YouTubers. I was amazed at how you were both playing shots so close together and made it an enjoyable watch – although there is no way Lee is a 36 handicapper PLUS forward tees 🤣👍🏼

  3. Greaat video, I've been thinking about doing that I'm 65 and I still hit the ball up to 275 plus, Tee up from the white tees now, I'm almost too embarrassed to go up to the senior tees As far as I hit it And I have 11 handicap

  4. I think it's a great idea. A lot of us need to swallow our pride when we play golf. I use the srixon divide ball the tour response aren't available here yet

  5. It’s a great leveller. Maybe see if you give less shots and he should be confident enough to go for his shots not follow yours. ⛳️⛳️

  6. At our club all men's comps are played from the white tees or yellow for seniors. All ladies comps are from the reds. There is no option for men to play from the forward tees. The new WHS has had no impact at all. I have never seen men playing from the forward tees. By the way, how on earth is Lee a 36 handicap? The other down side of the WHS is that there seems to be far too many people with handicaps much higher than their ability.

  7. Nice video and am a real supporter of moving forward. And in this video your statement about being closer to the main landing areas from the tees is absolutely correct – you can miss out a lot of garbage.

I play from front tees quite a bit (I'm a senior so its OK) and have no problem with it. It makes the game more enjoyable as you get different views of the same holes that you are used to and you get to hit shorter clubs into the greens.

This should lead to lower scores – which is great!!

What I think you failed to mention is that your handicap (or more correctly index) is all relative to the tees. So your scores may well go down but it won't necessarily affect your handicap: only your enjoyment.

For me I have to play to level par to play to my handicap from certain front tees but seven over par works from the perceived "men's" tees.

Keep up the good work Gary.

  8. My wife and I are in our 70s , I PLAY FROM THE FRONT TEES and my wife plays from where the fair way grass starts on par 4s and 5s . She does not hit it very far so buy doing this it makes us pretty well equal in distance . Doing this we have a lot of fun and enjoy the game together .

  9. All golf courses should have a slope and rating, you play off the appropriate tees according to that. The rating, which is generally a number somewhere between 66 and 77, represents the average score that a scratch golfer (handicap 0) would shoot on the course. The slope rating is a number between 55 and 155 and the number represents the relative difficulty of the course for a bogey golfer compared to a scratch golfer. The higher the number, the harder the course is; the standard, or average, course slope rating is 113.

  10. As a handicap chairman for our golf clubs, the UK was the last area to join as courses were not rated. Its a very simple system

  11. I did this way before you could (practice rounds of course) holes change massively depending on the tees you play from

  12. I think it was 130 yards, but who cares if you are both enjoying your golf. With WHS your handicap changes based on the tees you use. In effect Lee may be six shots less from the red tees at Woolley Park. It could be four or eight less at other courses.

  13. Nice vid as usual Gaz, although not sure where you and James Robinson went to school as he is just as bad. First hole from whites 571 yards from reds 441 and you both said about 90 yards, 130 yards. I know golf sucks you into not working on numbers no higher than 7 or 8 normally, but really. Back to school for basic maths

  14. Great video Gaz and I did wet myself laughing when the trolley was off 🤣🤣
Well played Lee 👏👏 and listen to the advice from Gaz

  15. 36? I’m sure his handicap index would be lower off the front tees. There seems to a macho thing happening here in Alberta. Guys who play twice a year go off the back tees and get in such a mess and slow the whole course down. The games hard enough as it is.

  16. I'm not big hitter but mind set is play the course not against playing partners always playing against par helped me not interested in what they score

  17. A great video Garry . U know what would be a good video, as a lot of us are new to golf much like me. I would like to know my handicap and how to work it out and progress it .. just a thought

  18. Every course needs to adopt this system now mate – and it's great to see you showcasing it on You Tube. Woolley Park is a great facility, love the dynamic philosophy they have towards golf, still loads of golfers out there that are set in their ways about which tees to play off, but they shouldn't be.
