Jonathan, that was an excellent short video on holding the shaft angle on chip shots. From the position where you were off the green, I have gone to a more upright stance, split hand grip on the handle, using a 5 or 7 iron I stroke the ball like a putt. I will definitely remember your technique when I am further out and the shot requires a lofted iron.
Define a Chip and a pitch that ball pitched to the pin – 80% in the air and maybe 20% on the ground – a chip spends 10-20% in the air and runs out to the pin the other 90% –
Nice to get explanation what there happens. In feel wise I´ve been doing this for some time during chipping and noticed I manage to chip much better, now I know why this works better Thank You for great videos!
