  1. It would be super useful if you also put the degrees on each of the non-wedges. Great video.

  2. Matt, awesome stuff. I do think it’s important to note your lofts on your irons to others. This is important, and in your case your more “traditional” lofts in your T100 irons. For comparison, would be good for others to know if they are getting more or less than you and how it compares to static loft on the club. Your 34* 7iron compared to a Game Improvement 30* 7iron as as example. Your yardages are EXCELLENT for the higher/weaker lofts that you play.

  3. I know you did the Cobra Autoflex thing,,but if i remember right, didnt you get your personal bests with that combination, but using Brysons/Moes one plain swing?

  4. With your speed Matty I think you should carry a 64 degree wedge and maybe weaken your 60 by a degree. If you get different bounces you will get huge options I the scoring zone. Also maybe look at smoothing your iron gapping. Dave Pelz has some great ideas in his short game bible which I reckon would suit you.

  5. Wedge distance a bit uneven, no? Especially gap between and 54 and 50, it looks as if 50 is playing at 52. PW also seems to be playing stronger than 46, maybe at 45. I think that besides distances, it would have been helpful/useful to see other metrics as reference: dynamic loft, efficiency, spin rate, ball speed. Nice video!

  6. Maybe a Ping #2-Hybrid, with a heavy shaft and playing open, de-lofted & flat, for your 14th club for tight hole tee-shots

  7. Grab some of Gareth’s shaft labels. I use them for wedge matrix but also put them on my other irons with low/avg/high carry numbers

  8. Matt, you're such a good ball stricker… love to see you swing the golf club. Keep posting those great videos!!!

  9. I’d strengthen the 54 to 53, drop the 50, and add an extra fairway wood, hybrid, or driving iron. Unless lofts are really jacked up, there’s no need for that many wedges. Far easier to finesse wedges and still retain spin to hold the green. But having a driving iron, for example, could yield more strokes gained with a low bullet tee ball, especially for a faster player like yourself. Strengthen the 54 and it will probably carry 115 or so. Then you can always back off the PW to get around 120ish. Would be better anyway so you don’t rip the ball off the green by hammering a 50. Lower flight with a bit of spin for the win. More control. Why carry the extra edge when you could gain so much more value in another long club?

I’m nowhere near your speed (about 130-134 mph ball speed with 5i), and I use only 3 wedges: 48, 54, 60 and then I have strong 3w, 16* driving iron, and 5w. I used to do 45, 50, 56, 60, but what’s the point? Finessing wedges are fairly easy compared to full swings. I’d rather have a driving iron for courses I don’t play often so I can hit a low bullet in play, and having 3w and 5w are great for covering long distance approach shots to get up around the green.

  10. I agree with the lofts comment. It’s important to note which lofts you’re using in your irons, while I know they are more traditional than some of the current game improvement irons.

  11. Arrcos it’s been an eye opener for me bc I’m clearly trying to hulk up when on monitor and I’m 5-10 shorter irl

  12. Did you end up deciding on a driver for the season or still feeling it out?

  13. I have yet to find a place near me that has consistent, and correct numbers to get my distances. I'm afraid I'm going to have to just use a rangefinder at the range instead.
