#glide4.0 #vokey #sm9 #wedge

I review & test on the golf course the new Ping Glide 4.0 Wedge testing at different distances as well as around the green and bunker shot. Then I compare against the market leader in golf wedges the Titleist Vokey SM9 Wedge so see which provides the most backspin and control.

  1. great that you touched on standard deviations. Ping 4.0 seems like a winner for Ping…now if they would please already release the stealth version

  2. Excellent review. Would you do a reviews with component clubs vs brand name clubs? My friend swears by his acer pro xv clubs , and his clubs cost 1/3 of the price of name brands he says.

  3. You are making me think about this. I have a fitting scheduled for wedges with Titleist. Great video!

  4. Ping just make horrible irons always think when I see a youtuber giving a great ping iron review it’s a paid review. Apart from there g series thats aimed at new or very poor golfers the rest of there line are terrible

  5. Prepare to open your wallet for either brand, especially the Pings. Wedge prices are ridiculous imo.

  6. The video was very enlightening…I would have loved if you added the Mizuno T-22 wedge…This is one I am looking at to fill out my Mizuno Iron set…Thanks….

  7. Was the Vokey brand new as well? As I’m certain you’re aware, new wedge grooves are much sharper than after 50-60 shots which would account for the 5-8% higher spin rate of Ping.

I’ve never been a fan of Ping clubs other than his putters. Would not have considered the Glide 4 and did not consider the Glide 3 when I bought my 46* T22 last Fall. I did demo the SM9 and RTX. I personally preferred the sole grind of SM8 over the Cleveland but the RTX over SM8 in feel and sound. The Mizuno however had the best feel, sound and turf interaction of the lot. I did not use launch monitor but the T22 when new is highest spinning wedge I’ve ever used, honestly it’s too high resulting in some ballooning full swings. After several rounds dulling the grooves, it’s far, far better than fresh out of plastic wrapper. It’s in fact the best PW I’ve ever hit and will be adding a medium bounce 52* as soon as my retailer receives my special order copper version.

My K-grind Miura 56, opened to 57 w/slightly relieved sole at heel, is staying in bag as my favorite and most versatile wedge.
