"The Incarnate Word" has to be the most ominous club name in all of sports. It doesn't help that everytime they hit, someone close to the cameras shrieks like a banshee. ⛥😈⛥👻
I am a long time softball fan. But I had never heard of Incarnate Word. Actually I kinda like that. I definitely like what I saw on the field. They really took it to a struggling Baylor team. They hit well and fielded well. While 11 and 20 overall, I think their 3 and 1 conference record tells a different story. Baylor to me is a team that seems to shrink a bit when the screws get turned on them and in the Big 12 that's not gonna cut it. They aren't bad in the circle but not great either. Still, they have talent in that line. They are a team that can play better and frankly should. Still enough softball ahead to turn this around but they have to believe they can and don't crumble when things don't go their way. They have what it takes to take a punch and come back but they have play like they believe that. At least, that's my take on them.
