That was a battle, LA sure looked good considering they had alot of players out of there line up. Great back and forth game and great to see the Oilers pick up a couple important points, would be a great playoff match up between these two teams. Lets keep it up against the Blues next!

WTF Yamo????? Maybe his bonehead move is symptomatic in general of these talented but very not gritty Oilers. They go for the perfect set-up instead of a simply neutral but safe play.
A less talented player would just chip the darn thing out FFS. That one dyslexic move coulda cost a standings point, and it might cost home ice, if they even get that close. I’ve turned sour on these Oilers since The Shellacking, but not because of that loss only. There were many lapses throughout the season up to that game, and it looks like those tendencies still haven’t been ironed out.
Frankly, we’re gonna need help from a bunch of non-playoff teams to beat Vegas. After the Apr. 16 game against Vegas, I’m expecting we’ll be fighting with Dallas (who also have an easier looking schedule) for the last wild card spot . Show me wrong, Oilers.
Draisaitl carries ?????????????????????. Wft david do ypu hate mcdavid , or do you just have a man crush on Leon. Quinton Byfields goal could have been stopped by Draisaitl but he just got out of Byfields way and welcomed him to shoot. And Draisaitls goal was all thanks to Hyman. Mcdavid +2 8 shots, Draisaitl even , 6 shots. Yeah it was Draisaitl that lead us to the win.
Good win for the Oilers, but a total George Bush league performance by the officials. The NHL needs to take a page out of the NBA playbook and call penalties/fouls when star players are abused, hooked, hacked. Officiating like this is the reason why you get slow unskilled teams like the Blues and Kings of yesteryear winning the cup. The NHL needs to realize that in order to promote their product, the star players need to have the stage to showcase their artistry. Come on NHL. Quit being so bushy george bushy for God's sakes.
You guys are homers every time (like me) but love your synopsis always. David way too oiler friendly always but you guys do an awesome job of breaking it down. Well done and keep it up.

I didn't think the oilers looked good AT ALL as a team. Tis the "Time" of the season where it becomes more clear to see what players WANT to play Post Season Hockey, and which ones DON"T WANT post season. As an OILER fan, I really want to Believe EVERY player wants a LOOONG RUUUUUN in the playoffs…But..It's just not the case! Edmonton has a few…If we do..we do..if we don't..we don't..guy's on the team…And that really sucks for the "Whole Hearted all-in" players like Drai/McD that every oiler fan can CLEARLY see want to bring this team ALL THE WAY. Colorado=ALL-IN, Pittsburgh=95% IN, Florida=90% IN, """"Edmonton Oilers=70% IN"""" and it's just not enough!!! That's how I see it anyway. A good example of "My Philosophy" would be the First Year VEGAS team…not enough talented players…BUUUT the team was ""ALL-IN"" that year, and came EVER SO CLOSE to winning the cup…This Year's Vegas Team has a lot more talent "or" at least just as much, Buuuuut,,, They Simply lack ALL-IN players, too many (if we do..we do) and that simply doesn't get it done.
Oilers do enough to get by….got outshot 4 to 3 by a grossly undermanned LA team. it's a losing M.O. in the playoffs. I hope they get their crap together….. Nationally the Oilers are not considered serious contenders by the media with their defense… not ever in the Mcdavid era thus far in his career. Toronto has the same issues on D…. SOFT. Byfield is going to be a handful. Great show fella's !!
Perfect analysis on Bouchard's give away. He does this at least once a game but he is young and needs to be taught how to deal with these situations. Absorb the hit block and battle to move the puck up the boards or to the other side but not to the Slot.
What did oilers learn from the thrashing at Calgary? Nothing apparently, as evidenced by two goals against in 14 seconds, both soft where the shooter should never have been allowed a shot on net.
I know Kopitar is old now and no longer the 30 goal 80 point guy he used to be, but he's still got game and still a 58% faceoff guy, and man the Draisaitl Kopitar match up was a battle. Leon did great at winning the faceoffs, shutting him down and still generating offense with the big man literally draped all over him clutching and grabbing all night.
Barrie loses that battle cause he wasn’t first to the puck cause he wasn’t skating. If he continued to skate he would of easily been first and could of fired it around the boards or made a play of some kind
Good synopsis of the game gents. The Oilers bottom six need to bring it to compensate for weak defence.

It was a good win hard earned but the defense needs to clean it up for sure..too many opportunities against the oil unnecessarily. It can be so frustrating to see them fumble with the puck or cough it up in their own end and give chances. Hopefully they can tighten it up. I'm not gonna complain too much about a win, but if the chances were cut down this could of been a regulation win.
The referees were horrible in this game.
Bruce, it seemed to me that Woodcroft was specifically putting Nuge out against Kopitar. Doesn't mean he shouldn't get any shots, but it gives some more color. I also think that the switch half way through where Nuge was put with Ryan and Foegele was a lot better. Some juggling needed and likely to happen next game.

Perfect situation. Have proven Oil is > Kings…. & built team for this Yr (Hyman etc etc).. while Kings are just rebuilding for future and our Goalies are really getting hot. CGY & COLO will knock out the others. So will need to beat CGY to get to final. Have had a little trouble w them – but not sure why. May need to play Bouch, Barrie & Nurse or just cover for them as they tend to be a source of some errors.. Playoff RUN

Why doesn t anyone talk about fans than stand up and slap the glass,wrecking views and aggravating other fans that paid big?
Best place to sit somewhat middle row just above the glass kinda on a corner of the rink that way you see everything and don’t have to look up or down too much like in the nosebleeds

Anyone commenting on yet another Nurse dive-and-flop move in the last two minutes that was so easy to work around that he almost lost us the game!?
That's a total peewee move and he constantly removes himself from viability in the play by doing that. They see it coming and just go, "oh well, I'll wait for this genius to slide past and then maneuver the pick around him.

Bruce, I don’t know if it’s a mic issue but I hate to miss your analysis and commentary as I always have to crank my stereo to hear you and then almost blow my speakers when Dave speaks. Love the podcasts fellas, must hear content for us hopeless Oilers fans. Keep up the great work!

The VGK know that they probabely wont make the wild card and need to beat either edmonton or LA.
Kinda sad that LA had a ton or injuries and Edm was healthy and it was still a close game.

Totally agree with Bruce's one bad thing. That goal drove me nuts.
