Many were new to racing in this type of setting, so please excuse the long delays between practise runs. Some drivers weren’t slacking between 400m and 500m, to brake at 500m and turn at 600/700m. They enjoyed the full balance of the 1800m airstrip’s run out! I assume they were preparing for 800m Drags the following day, where a Porsche GT3 RS, amongst other monster cars, appeared.
Some beasts of cars, at WOT, from a Mk1 Golf all the way to Sport, if not Super and Hyper cars. Some Nissan Skyline GT-R R35’s to Mercedes Benz C63’s and Plenty of ///M BMW’s in the mix as well. Not forgetting the “The Don”, arriving Sunday and aiming for full boost, in his 2000hp Nissan Skyline GT-R R35 and the Twin Turbo V10 Audi R8, that showed up on Sunday 5th, so be sure to watch out for that.
Nevertheless, exceptional race performance for those who haven’t done this before. I hope they return and take part in KZN Drag Racing in 2022 and after.
Good to see the ladies and youngsters getting into Drag Racing and enjoying it in a safe a secure environment.
