This hike starts a 1/2 mile before the trailhead due to the road being impassable except for serious 4×4 vehicles with owners that don’t care about the paint.
After arriving at the last place you can safely drive, (I saw Tesla’s parked there) hike in about 1/2 mile to the trailhead and then onto a forest footpath. You’ll get the chance to cross a wide log over a small ravine, (see video) pass Cottonwood Lake, intersect with the Pacific Crest Trail and then arrive at Mirror Lake. It’s a pristine and beautiful lake that just begs to be camped by and swam in. 🙂
