In this video I’m going to show you how to install, adjust, and remove your carbide tipped auger studs.

If you’ve got yourself some carbide tipped auger studs that you want to install in your dirt bike tires, we’re gonna start off with the install tool. You can use it in either a hand driven screw driver or your drill. Now I suggest putting it in your drill for installing and make sure it’s on the low speed setting, and use the hand install tool just for fine adjustments. Do not use an impact driver, this will wreck your install tool.

Start off with your drill and make sure it’s in the low-speed setting as it makes it easier not to over strip your knobs. Here is the rear stud, you can see the big augers on the shank. Insert the head of the stud into the teeth of the install tool, then stick it in the middle of your knob and apply some decent pressure. Start off nice and slow and sink it in until the install tool is just below the surface of the tire. You want to sink your stud in so the flat part of the portion that the install tool sits flush with the top of your tire knob. You can use your hand driven install tool for finer adjustments or use your drill.

Okay now for removal complete opposite of install of course, use your drill low speed make sure the tool engages into the stud completely and push remove, now if you’re removing studs on a used set of tires you’re gonna have a little bit of trouble finding those engagement points for the stud tool to pick up the points on the
stud but maybe with a little cleaning and some more pressure you can get them out no problem.
