When chipping around the green having a clear plan on what shot to hit is key. Also knowing how hard to hit the chip to get the distance you want is also key. In this video I highlight how knowing your club path when you chip can help you predict the smash factor and give you an idea on how fast the ball will come of the face. From there you can work back to your practice swings and make an accurate swing with the correct energy for the intended shot you are looking to play.
