Two police officers and a solicitor accused of perverting the course of justice after the events of the Hillsborough disaster have been acquitted after the judge ruled there was no case to answer.
Donald Denton, Alan Foster and Peter Metcalf were accused of amending officers’ statements to minimise the blame on South Yorkshire police following the disastrous events at the FA Cup semi-final in 1989.
