In the second episode of THE GOLF SHOW, I learned many things. Most of all, I learned what this show is about – it is about people, and golf is the thread that weaves us all together. I learned the title of the show while driving the old MG.
I learned about space. We left a lot of space in this film for voiceover, but when I watched it, I couldn’t think of anything to say that would better the story that the Manx people had already told me, in their own words.
I grew to love these long moments of quiet in between the words of this piece. The film itself speaks to me – perhaps sings to me – more than any other work I have ever done. I hope you enjoy it and I hope that your love of golf can bring you to places as interesting, unusual, and memorable as Isle Of Man was for me.
