I spend a lot of time dealing with players’ grips because for most amateurs, it’s the issue that both causes the most problems and can drastically improve your swing in an instant.

After watching the Player Lesson series with Ashley Huizing (You can watch the complete 5-Video lesson as a member at malaskagolf.com), I got this comment:

After watching Ashley swing so well one-handed, maybe more emphasis should be placed in the RIGHT hand portion of the grip, ie, 10 finger grip. If the right hand controls club face angle and supplies power, why not put it in charge? Especially since the left wrist is in a very strong position already.

The answer is that there is no “correct” grip. It’s a matter of comfort and feel. But, what is important is that your hands are on the club so that your joints line up naturally at the point of impact. This is key.
