Flying high – Attempting 10000ft – Can my PeaBee get that high?

Flying high, its not everyone’s cup of tea, its cold!! Primarily I really just wanted to see if the PeaBee would get to 10,000ft, FL100 on the right pressure setting. Importantly ,all aspects of this flight were conducted in accordance with Air Law. I can’t fly higher than 10,000 feet as I wasn’t transponder equipped and didn’t have Oxygen. (I have completed Hypoxia awareness training).

From wheel up, it took only 37 minutes and that included the transit to clear the Cardiff CTA. The whole flight took only 1hour 10 and used 7 litres. This machine just keep on giving.

UK VFR Rules class G
Below 3000 ft, clear of cloud, insight of surface, 1500m min visibility.
Above 3000 ft (Below FL100) 1000ft vertically and 1500m horizontally clear of cloud.

I did notice the engine cooling as I climbed, so would have needed to adjust the mixture for any higher flights.
